Wisconsin Preps Illustrated is a publication that promotes student-athletes around the state of Wisconsin in a format that is new to the high school sports landscape. Articles featuring athletes and coaches are in depth and accompanied by glossy, close-up action photos. Preps Illustrated is published four times during the school year and is distributed free to high school across the state. The format of the magazine is an oversized glossy, full-color layout, similar in look to that of a any national sports publication.

• Overcome - Student athletes that have taken tragedy head-on and with the help of sports came out on top.

• Alt - Features a student-athlete making it happen in a non-WIAA sport.

From WPI Founder Laura Ritchie
My favorite memories of high school were going with my Dad the morning after a tennis match and picking up the local paper to see what was written about our match (particularly to find out if my own name was mentioned). It was so exciting to get this kind of acknowledgment for my tenaciousness to my sport and I will be forever grateful to our hometown sports writer, Ray Halstead, for being at a million events at the same time, making sure all sports were covered adequately.

I would like to reproduce that kind of experience for other athletes in an even more exciting and engaging format, allowing readers statewide to hear more in depth stories of the athletes that are excelling in WIAA sports. I also want to give freelance writers, photographers, and graphic design experts I’ve worked with an opportunity to showcase their best work in a compelling format they can be proud of.
