Is this really necessary, ESPN?

Could they try and force LeBron on the public anymore? Is it really necessary to televise EVERY game that this guy plays? Is Cleveland/New York really a huge, entertaining, must-see game that just has to be televised on ESPN? Is it really a more compelling match-up than say Denver/Miami or Phoenix/Boston?

Lebron is a great player and he definitely can put on a great show in the sport of basketball but so can other players too. So I agree MBC that maybe the media does overdo it a little with Lebron. But the only reason that they are making this look like a marquee game is because of all the rumors circulating saying that Lebron could end up in New York when his contract in Cleveland expires.
The plot thickens... Two best times: Game time and Trevor Time Redonkulous!

I don't give a rip where he plays next year, to nationally televise a game just because of rumors that a guy MIGHT leave and go to what is a crappy team is totally ridiculous. ESPN hypes up this "LeBron in New York" like people care, but most people could care less about it because that just means he'll never win anything if he goes there. Right now, as of today, Boston/Phoenix and Denver/Miami are more entertaining match-ups. Clearly ESPN doesn't care about quality of their programming and are just concerned with pumping LeBron down their viewers throats at any chance they get.

They've been on TV more than enough already this year. Lakers & Magic were in the Finals last year and Cleveland's had more nationally televised games than those two put together so far... heck Orlando hasn't even had ONE game on TV yet!

I love how Stuart Scott sounds offended that Jamal Mashburn doesn't think Lebron got fouled on the final play last night. That was a good no call, there was no foul, yet ESPN is insistent that Lebron should have gotten free throws. Ridiculous.

Oh boy, so happy I didn't get to see a good game like Phoenix knocking off Boston and that I got to see LeBron put on a show at the Garden against one of the biggest collection of scrubs in the history of team sports.

Agreed they could of had a much better matchup (I watched the Bucks game instead) but if the Lakers played they would be on too.

That was a good no call, there was no foul, yet ESPN is insistent that Lebron should have gotten free throws. Ridiculous. If it wasn't the last shot in the game, he would have gotten that foul call. Noah went up and towards Lebron. I'm glad they didn't call it though. On another note, THAT'S what Mike Brown came up with? You have 4.5 seconds, an eternity in the NBA (just ask Derek Fisher) and you spread the floor and make Lebron drive to the hoop, and, at best, might get to shoot some free throws? On a third note, the Cavs suck. That entire team minus Lebron is garbage. Lebron is the ONLY guy who can create his own shot. It was putrid watching Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson, Anthony Parker and Delonte West try to create their own shots by getting by their guys or using screens. I mean, when I played basketball in 6th grade we learned how to effectively utilize screens. Instead, Mo insists on going the OPPOSITE way of the screen to what? Try to trick the defender? Then throw up some garbage?

You'd think this Cavs/Knicks games was one of the greatest in NBA history and that LeBron had one of the greatest games in NBA history the way they've been gushing about it. Halftime of the Blazers/Spurs, they spent like 10 minutes talking about this game and the other games got a total of like 4 minutes; Suns/Celtics got like 2 highlites. This whole thing with LeBron trying to act like he's a New Yorker & ESPN falsely crowning him the "King of New York" is just getting ridiculous. LeBron is not the King of New York, he's not from there, he plays there once a year, and the Knicks have been one of the absolute worst teams in sports over the past 10 years. They are 1-5 this season, nothing to brag about, and they will suck again this year. Nobody really cares about the LeBron/NY garbage.

Gotta love how about 15 minutes of SportsCenter is all about LeBron/New York and Kobe being the youngest to eclipse 24,000 career points gets about 2 seconds. Whenever LeBron is the youngest to reach a certain scoring milestone, it gets a 5 minute segment and they put up all these graphics to compare him with these other players. Kobe gets like 1 sentence mention. Also pathetic that they actually have the audacity to compare LeBron's career scoring average at MSG to Jordan's. Jordan did his damage against Knick teams that were always tough contenders in the East. LeBron has done his against Knick teams loaded with scrubs who are no better than 2nd string and bench players on most teams. Jordan would average 50 a game in his sleep against these Knick teams.

Thats why i was mostly watching it. Course to LeBron put on a show but i knew it would be a blow out so i was hoping to see Marcus play.
