RIVER FALLS AT MEMORIAL

I'll go ahead and say it. I don't think the Abes are that far back of the pack. If they can stop Wunrow-they have a shot. Force River to the air-easier said than done-and I think the Abes pull off an upset. Who from the regular pick 'em group will pick an upset special in an attempt to distance themselves from the pack? If someone's gonna do it, this might be your game. I just can't pull the trigger on this one. River Falls 21 - Memorial 14.

CHIPPEWA AT HUDSON

My vote for game of the week. Yes, I admit being way off on my Hudson score last week, but hey, they just aren't lighting the scoreboard on fire. Both teams seem to be experiencing some growing pains. Everyone will be riding Chippewa in this one, so I'm going to go with Hudson in order to get a game up (or down) on my BRC pick 'em competitors. I'm banking on the Raiders cleaning up mistakes and playing their horses both ways in order to have a shot at knocking off the Cards. *If either doesn't happen, Chip by 14. Hudson 16 - Chippewa 15

SUPERIOR AT RICE LAKE

Superior has been in some close games this year, as has Rice Lake, but I think the Spartans will have a bit more breathing room in this one. To coin a phrase from dfnewburry, Medford and New Richmond are no Stevens Point or Everest. The wishbone's a time tested offense; however, if the FB doesn't get you some yards it makes for a long night. Nobody in conference is more stout at DT than Supe. Yards will be hard to come by inside. Superior 24 - Rice Lake 7

*Although early in the season, RL should not only be thinking about the here and now, but also thinking about the playoffs, as they'll need a win against an upper tier team to get there. This could be their opportunity. Supe could be looking at this one as somewhat of a relief considering their first three opponents and may be looking past RL more than they should. Even so, the Warriors need to play great and their studs need to play a lot to have a shot of winning it in the 4th quarter.

NORTH AT MENOMONIE

For a conference not known as being pass happy, this game could be a shoot out. Menomonie won at least one 7-on-7 tourney this summer and we all know North's none too shy about heaving the ball around. I'd like to see them spread everyone out and throw the ball 50 times each. I just don't think North has quite enough to match the pace of Menomonie, so I'm going Indians 27 - North 7.

River Falls (2-1) @ E.C. Memorial (0-3)
Well, Memorial played an okay "half" against Chi-Hi, but the other "half", well, we can see how that panned out. Not sure when the Abes will get their first win of the season, but I just don't see if happening this week at all. Memorial has talent, their passing attack is legit, but important things aren't clicking at all. It's sad to see the Eau Claire teams have teams like they have in the recent years, especially with their enrollment and talent pool.
PREDICTION: River Falls over E.C. Memorial
SCORE: 35-20

Superior (1-2) @ Rice Lake (2-1)
I just can't believe Rice Lake lost to North, no disrespect to North at all, but I though (well, hoped) that Rice Lake was legit this year. They could've just had an off game, but, North? Come on! I love how the Huskies put a sock in my mouth, so maybe Rice Lake is being over looked by me. Superior should be able to pull of a win in this one, but don't be surprised if Rice Lake pulls off the upset. (P.S., I think Rice Lake is in the need of maybe upgrading their home jerseys, those things are old!)
PREDICTION: Superior over Rice Lake
SCORE: 21-7

E.C. North (1-2) @ Menomonie (2-1)
North is coming off of their first win of the year. I did say last week that North, on paper, has a shot of winning 2 games and last week was one of them. This week...no chance. Look for the Indians to control this game from kickoff to the end. It's tough to win in Menomonie for one, and for two, I can't see North pulling off this big of an upset. Good luck those guys!
PREDICTION: Menomonie over E.C. North
SCORE: 49-14

Chippewa Falls (2-1) @ Hudson (2-1)
PREDICTION: Chippewa Falls over Hudson

A Playoff will be much more fair than the BCS.
No matter what happens, Rodgers GREATER THAN Favre.
