I think I did a thread on this last year. I know things have changed since then. I'll do what I can. I'm sure I will leave some out. Here is my old list.

Teams with their own synthetic turf fields (not college fields):
*Arrowhead
*Brookfield Central
*Chippewa Falls
*D.C. Everest
*Green Bay Notre Dame
*Greendale
*Kenosha Bradford
*Kenosha Tremper
*Kettle Moraine
*Kimberly
*Middleton
*Northwestern
*Rice Lake
*Shorewood
*Westosha Central
*Whitefish Bay
*Wilmot

Teams that share synthetic turf fields (with other high schools or colleges):
*Catholic Memorial (Carroll University)
*Eau Claire Memorial/North/Regis (UW-Eau Claire)
*La Crosse Central/Aquinas (UW-La Crosse)
*Madison Edgewood (Middleton)
*Marquette/Wauwatosa East (Hart Park)
*Menomonie (UW-Stout)
*Oshkosh North/West/Lourdes (UW-Oshkosh)
*Platteville (UW-Platteville)
*Ripon (Ripon College)
*SPASH/Pacelli (UW-Stevens Point)
*Wausau Newman (D.C. Everest)
*Wisconsin Lutheran/Milwaukee Pius/Hope School/Heritage Christian (Wisconsin Lutheran College)

I think it is typically anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million.

Wow thanks for the list man. I have always been curious about the turf fields in wisconsin. I also love the feeling when playing on them, though they do leave lots of wounds.

Also, according to what I've ready, Waunakee and Verona are both in fundraising efforts to install synthetic turf at each of their own high school fields. I don't think I have heard about any other efforts though.

Is Indian Trails Stadium in Kenosha where Tremper plays? Bradford played their game against Franklin there and I'm pretty sure it had turf. If it's not Tremper's field, then it could kind of be added to the list, although Bradford doesn't play all games there I don't believe.

Personally, I'd like to see SWC in Rapids get it. Rapids and Assumption both use it, and it has hosted quite a few Level 4 games.

The field now is beautiful as far as grass goes, it has a huge crown tho. The facility is as good of one as you'll find.

Here is a movie that kind of shows what's involved and how fields are put in. It's from this Greendale website!

I think Bradford plays at Indian Trails Stadium and Tremper plays at Ameche Field, which also has turf. So I added Bradford to the list.

I think to just construct a basic field that's made out of Field Turf is around $1.3 Million, if I remember correctly. That's different than just putting Field Turf in, but That's the number I remember for a basic Field Turf stadium.

Chippewa Falls McDonnell also uses Dorais Field in Chippewa, they fundraised for it equally as far as I know.

West Bend has started a fundraiser, and if memory serves me correctly Oconomowoc has as well.

UWSP happens to play on Goerke Field in Stevens Point, but it is a city field. The primary donors for the field turf came from Pacelli and Spash parents which is why you see the company logos on the field.

Shorewood HS's field is also field turf.

Shorewood/Messmer uses it as their home field, and a couple City games have been played there as well.

IMO, Riverside should look into using as their permanent home field. Heck, it's closer than any of the other City stadiums.

I would also imagine it to be cheaper. I know one of the main reasons as to why Newman started playing at Stiehm was because it was cheaper than Thom.

Somerset has grass that is as nice as most people's turf.

I'm sure there are some schools out there that can say the same thing... until they play a game in the rain and rip up the field.

I know I already asked the question about the lights. But that got me thinking:

How many fields out there have artificial turf?

It may have been answered on another thread but I used the search option and couldn't find any so I thought I'd ask here.

And how long have these teams had turf? When DCE got their's installed at Stiehm Stadium I thought that they were one of the only ones other than the D3 colleges and Camp Randall. But now I'm starting to hear more and more about high school facilities having their own artificial turf.

Kimberly and DCE are the only one's that I can think of off the top of my head but I've heard that there are more.

Since someone just brought this up, I figured I would find this old thread and bring it to the attention of whoever started the most recent thread.

My bad. I searched "turf" instead of "turf?"

Ripon got theirs installed after the 2007 season (year I graduated) so the 08 kids were the first team to use it.
