It figures....

\Rant

Ever since that stretch of success in the mid 90's to early 2000's the girls program at my alma mater has fallen flat on their face. They have went 29-146 (16-152 GMC) games in eight years under five head coaches. It is kind of hard for a program with the high turnover at head coach to have much success overall. Add to that when the cross-town rival had a lot of success during that time and it complicates things. Whoever takes the reins at Hale has a mountain to climb to make the girls program at Hale competitive once again.

I thought Hale would turn a corner once Gabrielle Green got there. Watched her play for the Hale feeder team for years in youth league. Thought she could help Hale right away as a freshman. Freshman year rolls around, and she's listed on the varsity roster...for Pius.

As was the Chladek girl.

At this point, Hale should probably not hire another former Huskie player, unless they want another one-and-done...

Coach Siejkowski was around for two years....Hopefully the talent from the freshman and the JV squads can help lead the Huskies back to respectability.

Hard to keep track when the revolving door is spinning as fast as it does over at Hale...

Yes Hale went 1-22 (1-13) last year and 5-19 (2-12) this year under her. Stability at the top at Hale is a must...

Omro has an opening for Varsity Girls Basketball coach... I believe the JV and freshman coaches would like to stay if the next coach would like them to, but we are looking for a new varsity coach. a good young team that is improving from years past with alot of young talent. Like many teams we need a good coach.

Former Sheboygan Falls boys hoops coach Eric Spielman hired to replace Susie Runaas as girls basketball coach at Sheboygan North. I didn't even know Coach Runaas had resigned.

No He wants to spend more time with family. He has a 10 & 6 year old & being in the ranks for 12 years takes a lot away from them.

I hadn't heard about Ruunas stepping down either. Did she retire as an educator altogether?

I don't believe she every was an educator. I think she works in the medical field for one of the local hospitals. North will be getting a great coach in Coach Spielman. Sheboygan Falls boys program will have a hard time replacing him with a coach of equal qualities.

Grab some popcorn and a soft drink and read the comments! Our own Wissports member and chief Dickert-Sturtz apologist, snzuluz, jumped in feet first and is getting his/her azz handed to him/her.

Add Nicolet to the list of openings. It's hard seeing so many female coaches walk away or get asked to leave their positions (Wolf, Hamilton, Runaas, Dickert-Sturtz, etc.) Hopefully there are some good, young female coaches coming up the ranks. Male coaches are great, but sometimes these athletes really need a female role model!
