New Richmond’s Hayden Zimmerman and Somerset’s Jared Dettmann are providing sharp pitching for their college baseball teams.

Turf at OHS ? I do see the need but not the money.

Also noted that Kelly Stephens is retiring after 16 years at OHS. He is as great a guy, as a coach and teacher. Hard to find a classier coach.
Good luck Coach Stephens in your retirement.

One of the best and most respected track coaches in the state. It won't be long until he joins another OHS track coach, Rob Bullard, in the Hall of Fame. I imagine he will still be seen frequently at practices and meets, it will be tough to keep him away. Good luck Steve-O!

I didn't find it that tough either, but it was an awesome experience! I didn't have any trouble with any obstacle, but the second to last one, where you jump off a platform into water, is much higher than it looks! I absolutely recommend participating in this.

Ok I'm calling bs. The bird could not finish the tough mudder without getting hauled to the hospital..It was fun pretending..The writing the number on the fourhead and buying an orange headband was quite effective.Got the idea from rosie ruiz in the Boston marathon i30 years ago.

Eh, ya could've done it...I saw a video of each of the obstacles (one of the guys who stayed with us wore a waterproof video camera--similar to how a miner would wear that light) and turned on the camera at each obstacle. He said the toughest obstacle was where you had to climb up 5 or 6 different mud hills--fairly steep (each hill followed by a pool of mud). This guy had done marathons before and said that the marathon was harder than the Tough Mudder. I suppose it's a matter of opinion though...

This whole name changing this is a bunch of bologna! I'd guess that about half the town names in Wisconsin are named after a native american tribe or a native american. They better change the town names then too. Also, I find the fact that the Washington REDSKINS playing in our nations capital pretty comical! I think Redskins and Indians is more racist than Blackhawks or Chieftains.

Didn't Baldwin drop the Black and have just gone with the Hawks for a number of years? I can understand the need for some schools with derogatory type nicknames having to change, but look at the thoughtfulness that was put in by the Osceola school district when they redesigned everything. I would hope rational people would see it as a sign of respect.

I believe they continue to have the Blackhawks name but only use the word Hawks on uniforms, etc.

Way to go all Mike McMartin on the deal. I understand how Kelly Stephens got away from NR, but how they let McMartin leave is still a head scratcher to me. Back to the subject at hand. I have for a long time wondered how far I could get claiming that as an Irish-American I feel that the Notre Dame mascot grossly mirepresents our people as drunken fighters?

They still have uniforms that say Blackhawks. The black color was a sign of the times when black was "in". The school colors are scarlet and silver...identical to Ohio State. There was some rumblings a few years back to change it, but it was dealt with by removing the indian logo from everything--that was asked of them(anyone remember the indian on the old gym floor?). I would hope they don't get pressure to change it anytime soon.
