People really need to let that situation go...anyway, to answer your question: it is more than likely she had to earn her way to the varsity roster...perhaps she wasn't available for a time trial or meet that pre-determined the varsity line-up.

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin named Waukesha's Emily Joers and Osceola's Casey Danielson co-players of the year on its all-state team.

Danielson, a junior, won her third straight WIAA Division 2 title last month, shooting a 2-under-par 142 at University Ridge in Verona, the lowest score of either division. Joers, also a junior, won her second Division 1 crown with a 36-hole score of 146.

I had the opportunity to check out the Northwest WI art show at WITC in New Richmond yesterday. It represents something like 30 school districts from Ellsworth as far north as Superior. Two of my daughters were fortunate enough to have work chosen for there. Anyways, there were 2 pieces of work that caught my eye. One was a painting of Sean Taylor wearing half a Redskins uni and half a Miami Hurricanes uni. Not truly half and half, but a ragged view of it. The other was a self portrait in pencil of a young adult with his finger in his nose. The student was from Ellsworth, his name was Alex Campbell. Now, I rather doubt there are very many Alex Campbell's that live in Ellsworth, so I am assuming this is the same athlete we have watched the past 2 years. Pretty neat if it is indeed the same kid. Excellent artwork young man.

If Lincoln Howard from OHS can be the cowardly lion in "The Wizard of Oz", then anything is possible.

With plum city's 40 36 win on Monday former Durand girls coach John pollock won his 500 game. I'm to yOung to have seen him coach for Durand. It was very fitting he won his 500th against a middle border team considering how many mbc championships he won

I still remember when Dee Colby stepped down as the GBB coach to concentrate on VB and telling me that he was the best person to take over the program that she started. Of course she always told us boys which girls were going to be the best players also.

I feel bad I have not posted this yet, anyways..... Congratulations to NRHS Senior Patrick Kletschka for not only winning the state powerlifting championship in the dead lift event, but also for breaking a 12 year old state record in the 220 lb division with a lift of 615 lbs. Way to go Patty boy!

After this weekend's competition, you can add National Champion to Patrick's accomplishments. Congrats.
