See my threads for D1 and D2. Not only do I have supportive facts supporting each program, but I list upcoming programs. I haven't entered the data for D1 yet, however. Others can discuss D3-D7.

You guessed it, lets get the smaller schools involved.
There were plenty of teams purposely left off the list to generate discussion (such as Kimberly and Regis)

Despite not making the State Championship game this year, DeSoto is a top small school program that almost always brings the goods year in and year out.
I will not apologize for being awesome.

DeSota is one that could be easily overlooked. They were a major powerhouse back in the 80's with alot of gold and silver balls in the trophy case. When is the last time they even had a losing record?

And, in addition to the afore-mentioned Kimberly, Somerset, Eau Claire Regis, Lancaster, Big Foot and Kewaunee:

Verona
Middleton
Monona Grove
Brillion
Appleton North
Wisconsin Lutheran
Waukesha West
Milwaukee Marquette
Cedarburg
Franklin
Kewaskum
Wrightstown
SPASH
Wisconsin Rapids
Waupaca

A couple of traditional powers who have struggled as of late are DC Everest and Ashwuabenon. DCE appears to have righted their ship with a deep run into the D-1 playoffs this season and may very well be on the way back up.

Central Wisconsin is a hot bed of traditional small schools:

Stratford
Edgar
Pacelli
Gilman
Mosinee

The old Wisconsin Valley is also there with a lot of good schools...

Of all schools I forgot Colby lol.

Also, I think Green Bay Notre Dame and Ashwaubenon, 2 big fox valley schools that have always been good over the years.

Top Division 1 programs in the state the last 5 years... (not based on opinion-just numbers)

Arrowhead 54-7 1 state title
Bradford 54-9 1 state title
Homestead 54-7 1 state title
Verona 53-9
Appelton North 49-11
Marquette 49-11 1 State Title
Stevens Point 46-15
Waukesha West 44-12 1 State Title
Middleton 43-13
Riverside 42-11

Some interesting tidbits... since arrowhead annd homestead had their run of playing eachother so often in Madison, there has been no repeat winners in 6 years

8 different teams have played for state titles the last 10 years
repeaters

Bradford is the only team to at least advance to the quarterfinal the last 5 years)

Riverside is 10th in the state in wins the last 5 years, yet they have only advanced once out of round 1 of the playoffs.

One of the better most recent programs would have to be West Depere winning two state titles in two years. With powerhouses in Kimberly Appleton North, Springs.

One of more upcoming unknown programs would have to be Cedar Grove belgium, Always seemed to be ranked high and in playoffs (more of under the radar)

In d3 once again kewaskum has several back to back playoff appearance accompanied by deep playoff runs

Just to name a few that havent recieved attention...

I would think that Somerset would be mentioned. Since 2002 season, one title and runner up 3 times. 4 times in the title game out of 10 years

Verona and Waunakee I believe are the only two programs in the state who can claim to be conference champions in their respected conferences the past 7 consecutive years. Verona with four consecutive in the Southern Badger and then three consecutive in the Big 8 after switching conferences without skipping a beat.

In sharing the North Shore title with Cedarburg, I believe this is Homestead's 11th straight league title.
