Will Wisconsin Rapids( 4 peat D-1 ), Coleman (3 peat D-3 ) and Ellsworth D-2 repeat in there respective divisions or will other teams be able to close the gap?

Rapids still has WAY too much for Arrowhead, Hudson, Kaukauna, etc... to beat them. Next year will be the year if anyone will want to keep Rapids from winning state, but after that, it'll be back in the Red Raider's control for a while.

I'm not sure about D-2 or D-3, but I think Coleman will be ok. Should be fighting with Mineral Point. And Ellsworth should fight with Luxemburg-Casco, and Lodi.

Mineral Point has one returning qualifier . Should be good but has a lot of filling in to do.
Clear Lake nearly wrestled in the finals last year but 1 returns ??
A lot of underclassmen on this team . Good numbers.
Oostburg dont know much about them but typically the southeast has a tough time at state level in D-3

D-2 Luxemburg- Casco has 6 of seven State qualifiers back giving them a good team foundation.
Ellsworth has 3 0f there 7 qualifiers back but always seem to reload.
Oconto Falls has all 6 back also giving them a great team foundation

D-1 Rapids 7 of 12 qualifiers back should be solid as usual.

Should be interesting year!

The Rapids/West match is towards the end of the season, and it is in Rapids.

dont quote me on this, but dont coleman and edgar go to the same team sectional? so there fore only one will end up at team state? like i said dont quote me because i dont know about recent regional rearrangments but if you went by last years....

As for D1 and D2, Rapids may not be as strong as first thought...and also Casco Looks dang solid

All very good teams, I think the team state teams will be:

A- Wausau West maybe Hudson
B- Wisconsin Rapids
C- Deforest or Holmen
D- Hartford or Kaukauna
E- Milton
F- West Allis Central or Mukwonago
G- Arrowhead
H- Franklin

F is a tough one to pick. WAC, Mukwonago, and Muskego are all in the same sectional, with Mukwonago and Muskego being in the same Regional.

I know very little about H, so that could be wide open.

Rapids should be too strong in the middle for Pulaski, and if they want to win their 4th title, they will need the power of their lineup (145-195+) to get pins, and the little guys to keep matches close and maybe get an upset.

I just meant the sectional level if that. Coleman will dismantle them they are just to strong. I just don't know any D-3 team that could compete with Coleman this year ?
Edgar does however have a handfull of individuals that will represent them well at State.

I think you have to put Lancaster and Iowa-Grant in the D-3 picture this year as teams to look out for. Unfortunately the WIAA has them all in the same Regional in the first round. Three top ten ranked teams in the first round. There are going to be some really good wrestlers get knocked out of the tourney early this year in that regional.

Luxemburg-Casco vs Marist , Il it's first match at The Clash X

Marist-Current record is 7-1-1 (before wrestling Marmion Academy and Plainfield Central on 12/17). Beat Minooka (44-21) and Lyons (42-21. Lost to No. 1 Montini Catholic(36-27), tied No.3 Lockport 33-33.

Must be exciting to see this caliber of competition.

Yeah , I think they have the cart before the horse on the Rapids deal. I wasn't sure where they would miss but thought they dominated the Bi-State last year and did not see them listed. What other tournaments can I find them in the rest of the season?

The Mega Duals in Nequa Valley, IL.

Then its:
WVC tourney @ Wausau West
Regionals @ SPASH
Team Sectional @ Ashwaubenon
Individual Sectional @ Pulaski
Individual State
Team State


They were not allowed to go to Bi-State, The Clash, or Cheesehead.

F is a tough one to pick. WAC, Mukwonago, and Muskego are all in the same sectional, with Mukwonago and Muskego being in the same Regional.

I know very little about H, so that could be wide open.

Rapids should be too strong in the middle for Pulaski, and if they want to win their 4th title, they will need the power of their lineup (145-195+) to get pins, and the little guys to keep matches close and maybe get an upset.

Coleman should be a lock for the D3 title. They just won the Oshkosh on the Water tourney by more than 100 pts and I think all 14 wrestlers finished in the top 10. I know that is not a dual tournament but their consistency is amazing. Outstanding team.

WAC's biggest bug-a-boo is a lack of quality in the top 3 weight classes, and the fact that one of their better wrestlers has a hard time staying on the mat for a variety of reasons.

Considering all the holiday tournament results it looks like D-1 has opportunities for a team to step up and put there bid in for a championship.
D-1 I still think Rapids is going to be the team to beat but Wausau West might sneak in there.Maybe a team like WAC or Muk could be there at the end.
D-2 Lux/Casco is seems to be as good or better than I can remember but of course Ellsworth ain't going away yet and Lodi and Oconto Falls both very good. Merril beat Oconto Falls by a couple points for the Northern Exposure team tourney.36-33 something like that.
D-3 Coleman is just to strong , Iowa -Grant or Lancaster will come from the SW . Mineral Point overall just not as solid this year . IMO
Some good tournaments coming up should say a lot in the next few weeks.
