I hope both these guys stick in the NBA this season. Both have paid their dues, and both are capable & deserving of playing at the top level.

While Butch doesn't have a guaranteed contract, Stiemsma's contract is for $762,000 and if he's cut he's owed at least $473,000. Looks like he'll be making the team for sure.

That contract, guaranteed or not means very little. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he were gone after a month or two. Hoping it doesn't come to that. I'd love to see both playing in the NBA.

Stiemsma hit the game winning shot today against Toronto.

This is awsome. I've always thought that Stiemsma would make an NBA roster at some point. Hope he can have an impact at some point this season.
A Playoff will be much more fair than the BCS.

Wow, Greg is putting on a shot blocking clinic tonight. I didn't think he would play 4 seconds, none the less 4 blocks in the first half!
i don't know what i said, but i know what i meant.

Greg Stiemsma is averaging 3.5 blocks per game 3.5 rebounds per game and 2 points per game in 18.5 minutes per game thus far. Interesting how his career HIGH average at Wisconsin for minutes was 10.

He kind of got behind the 8-ball after the ineligibility debacle. I always felt he was underutilized.

And in some small way, Pearl is somewhat vindicated for his "Greg Stiemsma will be an NBA lottery pick someday assertions" (blast from the past).

In his first NBA start Greg Stiemsma had 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Turning into a good NBA center.

Slow down. Stiemsma has played well defensively his first 4 games, but this was obviously his best offensive game of the season. In order to be a good NBA center, he will need to do this over the course of at least 2-3 years.
I asked LeBron James if he had change for a dollar, he gave me 4 quarters, picked up his 4th MVP trophy, and quietly walked away.

In NBA 2K12, Stiemsma's most updated rating has him at 56. Hes got like a 77 shot block rating which is pretty solid, but nothing compared to like JaVale McGee's 94, but I play with the Celtics a lot (because Rondo's a boss) and I smother offenses with Stiemsma and his shot blocking. He gets every tip and block that guys like Garnett don't get, I think the game just knows he's awesome.

Joel Pryzbilla beat him to that already, it's too soon for another Vanilla Gorilla.

Stiemsma is much more vanilla and much more gorilla than Pryzbilla though.
