Anyone know if they do live stats for State Volleyball like they do for Baseball, Basketball, etc...?
Baseball is not a game that builds character, it is a game that reveals it.

Oconto's Sara De Pouw sets the record for most kills in a four set match in the state volleyball tournament against Cuba City with 39, as well as tying for second in most aces in a D3 four set match with 5. While the kills will get most of the attention (and rightfully so), at least 4, if not all 5, of De Pouw's aces came late in sets to bring the Blue Devils back to even or put them ahead, her aces were truly clutch.

Sets up a great state final between team's with two of the best volleyball players in the state in DePouw and VerVelde. The key match up, however, may be Laken James having to possibly swing against the block of VerVelde. Overall a tough match up for Oconto, but should be very exciting none the less.

So where is the outrage in volleyball, as five out of the eight teams playing in Championship Saturday are private schools?

Must be with all the soccer fans who just accept the fact that private schools are going to win all the state championships, especially in the lower divisions.

Three returning champions successfully defended their championships at the 2012 State Volleyball Tournament this weekend at the Resch Center in Green Bay with Burlington, Oostburg and Catholic Central each retaining their titles.

Burlington won the Division 1 State championship with a 29-27, 25-20, 25-16 sweep of Divine Savior Holy Angels in the title match. Ciara Capezio had 20 kills to lead the Demons. Her 84 kills in the tournament ranks second-most in the Division 1 record book and second for all divisions. Quinn Spieker added 16 kills to help the cause.

Divine Savior Holy Angels finishes runner-up in its second championship final appearance. The Dashers only other advance to the title match resulted in a championship in 2001.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran won the Division 2 State championship by downing Edgewood 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-18 in the championship final Saturday.

The Chargers withstood a first-set defeat to bounce back and win the next three games to claim the match. Rebecca Roembke led the Chargers with 17 kills on offense and 18 digs on defense.

It was the Kettle Moraine Lutheran's fifth State championship and its first since 2007. The Chargers won three Division 3 titles from 2002-04. Edgewood finishes runner-up for the fifth time in six State appearances.

Oostburg successfully defended its 2011 title with a 20-25, 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 win over Oconto in the Division 3 championship match.

The Flying Dutchmen overcame a first-set loss to win the next three behind Jo-Leigh VerVelde, who recorded 24 kills and 23 assists to lead the offense. Abby VanStelle added 17 kills.

It's the third State championship for Oostburg, which won its first championship in 1994. Oconto finishes second in its second trip to the State Tournament. The Blue Devils' only other appearance came in 1999.

In Division 4, Catholic Central captured its second straight WIAA State Girls Volleyball Division 4 championship with a three-set sweep over Newman Catholic 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.

The Hilltoppers took control of the match midway through the first set, breaking an 11-11 tie with a 14-4 run to win the first game. Megan Wadsworth led Catholic Central with 13 kills and five blocks. Maggie Smith added 11 kills, three service aces and a pair of blocks.

It is the fifth State championship for the Hilltoppers. They won three consecutive titles from 2006-08. The Cardinals finished runner-up for the second time. They also placed second in 2009.
