Another match up that I am eagerly awaiting!
"Friday night butterflies, like clockwork they arrived,
Little chill in an October sky, nervous 'til the kickoff came,
Four quarters win or lose, spent Saturdays black-n-blue, but it was what I loved to do, and it was more than just a game."

Both of these teams have playmakers at multiple positions (who doesn't at this stage, right?). MG beating Catholic Memorial wasn't as big of an upset as the media makes it out to be. CMH just wasn't explosive on offense, but it was always given the excuse of "look at their tough schedule". MG runs and throws at just about the same clip as Cedarburg and Pewaukee - two of the better southeastern area teams, and though each got their rushing yards against Greendale, they couldn't match their explosive play making ability. MG will put up points, but even mighty Franklin and these other schools couldn't keep up when the Panthers kicked it in gear. I see a double digit lead early for Greendale, with MG having to throw more than they like by halftime.

Greendale - 41
Monona Grove - 24

He certainly does. The Badgers will be happy to have him. Ironically, a player like Gault is neutralized quite a bit against such a fast perimeter team like Greendale. There were some defensive big boys - all-state caliber guys on Cedarburg, Franklin, and Plymouth. They aren't at Gault's level, but still, they were non-factors because of Greendale's myriad of offensive weapons all over the field - possibly 3 all-state kids at the skill positions.

I'm hoping there are a few plays where Gault and Maxwell are lined up right across from one another.

It's hard to make Maxwell look small, but that'll do it!

I agree that Monona Grove's victory over Catholic Memorial wasn't that big of an upset...but the reason not being because Catholic Memorial wasn't as good as people thought. Catholic Memorial's only loss was to Arrowhead, a division 1 team that will probably end up winning the D1 championship. Greendale will struggle to achieve their average ppg against MG. Where MG will struggle to get any passing game going against Greendale.

GD fumbled the opening kickoff and MG recovered.

GD stopped MG on downs inside the 10.

GD drove down the field and scored on a 6-yard run by Josh Ringelberg.

The spot on that pass that resulted in a third down conversion was horrendous. Although the way the drive went I'm not sure MG would have stopped them on 4th down anyway.

The silver lining for MG is these quick scores by GD mean GD's defense is spending a lot of time on the field.

On a technical note: I'm listening to the ESPN-Wisconsin online stream of the game. Total MG homers announcing. But this is the poorest engineered broadcast I've heard. Announcers are too low, bumper music it way too loud.

If you're listening to the same guys as me (Knobby and whoever), I sense a (very) slight "favoritism" towards MG, but they are Madison-area guys, so that's who they're familiar with.

GD now stops MG on downs inside the 20. Like a broken record for MG.

Yeah, and it also seems like they are having trouble seeing the numbers on Greendales jerseys. Hard to call the players names.
