I look at it like this:
- The NL is real baseball. None of this DH crap.
- The Mid-west is Real America. MO, IA, IL, WI, MN, KS, NE, etc...... You don't get much more American than that. Hard working, blue-collar working states.
- The Real teams in the area (Reds, Cubs, Cards, Crew) are exactly what represents the mid-west. Hard working, middle-class.
- 3 of the teams I mentioned have rich-historic pasts. And out of those three, One has the most world series titles in the NL (Real Baseball.) A tradition of bringing competitive teams year-to-year, Not just a flash in the pan for a year or two. Several of the best players to ever play the game. Those 3 teams have many players who are can be ranked there, however....

It's like us Packer fans. The Packers are America's team. Hands down. Most word titles, mid-western team, the heritage of the team, the importance of the team to the sport's history, etc... That is exactly what I see in the Cardinals.

When I saw that, my exact words were: "Oh, Crap. Milwaukee is going to pull this one out."

Thankfully I was wrong.

There is no way Colbert leans to the right....

The worst part is that there are so many people that take Colbert and Stewart as actual news....... That is how to tell our society is going down the tubes.

I see the Brewers taking 2 of 3 from the Birds.
St. Louis has been playing so well for so long and Milwaukee so bad for so long that I can see this being an "odd" series.

But I can also see the Cardinals sweeping the Crew.

Gast pitched well against the Mets throwing for 6 innings, I believe.

On paper 2 of the 3 should go to America's team (Cardinals), but the games are not played on paper.

Thanks for the concern. She should be. She has to stay another night (Sunday) so I hope she can go home Monday. Its nothing major, but scary either way you slice it.

Just like the announcers who did the playoffs for TBS back in 2011 about Milwaukee? The Brewers were the best team ever that year and the Cardinals had no chance to beat them. They were real low key when they talked about any other team, but when they talked about Milwaukee the buttons popped off their shirts.

The announcers were fine today. Better than the one FOX usually limps to the barn with (Joe Buck), who would have been "drunk on the Kool-Aid."

Looking at the pitching match ups on Day #1 of the series, none favored Milwaukee in my opinion. The only one that slightly did was today with the Ace of Wainwright vs No. 2 Gallardo. Milwaukee really needed at least a split, and now they really need to avoid the sweep.

Today was a very entertaining game and took a lot of worry off my day with my sister being admitted to the hospital this morning. I only wish Gomez would have kept the antics of gesturing to the Cardinals dugout to "shhhhh" to himself.

As a Cardinals fan, I wish Milwaukee would go back to the AL. I'd then have an AL team I would semi-care AL although AL ball is not real baseball.

That is honestly how I feel.

Last fall I shot 2 deer with rifle, a monster doe and a big nub, and Grandpa was so proud. Last year was the first time since he was in his teens he didn't deer hunt, for he will be 91 in a month, and I could tell it bothered him more than I let on.

This spring I took him to the farm to scout for Turkeys and showed him where I shot the deer and found them, and he was happy as a clam. He missed being out there, and spending time with me. It was hard for him as it was me.

I admit opening day of rifle season, I shed a few tears in my stand because it was the first time I was alone out there and by myself. I ran the show, not him, and I didn't think the odds were too good for me to get one. But I managed to get 2 and had to use my tracking skills to find them that I learned from him.

Either way, he gave me the spurs, tail, beards, because he keeps saying it is my Turkey. I am in the process of mounting them myself, but at the end of the day, it is ours, and nothing can be done to take that way. It is something I will show my kids and Grand kids, and even Great-Grand kids if I have the chance. And I hope to share moments like that with that with my kids, Grand kids, and so on.

Like you said, Longball. I would rather go with Grandpa and get nothing than fill a tag alone. That is really how I feel.

I went Turkey hunting for the first time this year as a caller for my Grandpa, and I had a Blast, but got spoiled in the process.

The short story is that we only sat or 45 minutes because half an hour into us sitting they came out and fifteen minutes later I was successful in calling in a pair of Toms that were following a flock of Hens and a Tom that had scared them away earlier in the morning.

The one Tom was 38 yards away strutting on a snow drift. He stopped and flattened out his feathers and stood up straight looking at the decoys. I was thinking "He's Gone." But then Grandpa took him out.

Grandpa tagged him, we registered him, and I processed him. Grandpa says it's my first turkey because I did the hard work of calling him in and fooling him thinking there were some "hot" hens and then the processing of the bird, but I look at it as it's OUR bird because we did it together. None of it would have happened if he wouldn't have shot.

He also told me I may never get a Turkey as big or bigger than the one we got. He weighed in at just over 25 lbs, had 2 beards, the main one being 11.5" and the second one being around 4" and the spurs were 1 1/16" long.

Curious to see if Yo's play continues from his last start or if his road struggles continue.
