Former Badger tackle Jake Bscherer, who was the Gatorade POY in Wisconsin his senior season at Sturgeon Bay H.S. has signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Bscherer lost out in a highly-contested competition for the starting LT position to Gabe Carimi as a sophomore at UW. After not being able to crack the starting line-up his junior season, he left the Badgers & was out of football for 2 years. Bscherer completed his last season of college eligibility at D-2 power house UM-Duluth this past year. http://www.wbay.com/stor...ns-with-seattle-seahawks

With their ability to get out and run, and play defense, a solid big, and/or a reliable 3 point threat, might be just the ticket. If Wilson addresses the shooting need , what about bigs? Marquette's front court will be the strong point of the team next year with Chris Otule and Gardner returning at the 5 spot. Steve Taylor, Jamil Wilson and Jameel McKay also join them in the front court and Juan can play there in a pinch. I'll be interested to see who they bring in as far as bigs go in the 2014 class but they don't just grow on trees. And I think Buzz might be going all in on one of Stone or Ellenson or in a dream scenario both. As expected Otule has now officially been granted a 6th year. Great situation for everyone involved!

Lohse probably deserves 3 more wins so far this season.
Lohse is an MLB pitcher. Suppan was an MLB impostor.

The Brewers starting rotation is dead last in the National League in ERA, WHIP and Batting Average Against going into today, and Peralta's start isn't going to help those numbers. If I could be GM I would do 5 things within the first hours. #1--Fire Kranitz #2--Cut Axford #3--Cut Weeks #4--Find a solid pitching coach #5--Find some solid baseball people to scour the ball yards and find some ARMS!Those things won't win the pennant this year, but would start this team in the right direction. Both eras of Brewers post season play have something in common. Pitching!! BTW--On both teams, the pitching was traded for, no homegrown arms............this organization HAS to learn how to acquire and develop pitching! RK Can't argue with that itinerary .......

paladium wrote:Am I alone in being impressed with how Barclay played as RT considering he was an undrafted FA?
I honestly think Barclay will win the starting spot at RT going into the season. You're not alone, Paladium in your opinion of Don Barclay. I, too, was very impressed with Barclay's performance at RT after he took over the position in mid-season. It was not a coincidence that the running game noticeably improved from that point forward. Barclay's strength is run-blocking which is the perfect fit for a RT .... much like exceptional pass blocking skills are a primary pre-requisite for a LT.

Last bash for the current long-time cast as an ensemble.
Tonight is Bill Hader's last show. Fred Armisen, Seth Meyers & Jason Sudekis are rumored to be gone by Feb, '14.
The exodus began with Kirsten Wiig leaving after last season. This cast was as good as any other in terms of talent, performance & longevity.
