It was crazy that Lebron took a team filled with role players to the nba finals with the cavs, but it wasn't like there was a lot in his way in the eastern conference then. the pistons were on the tail end of their run, caron butler and gilbert arenas were hurt for the playoffs, and that was the year i think shaq really started slowing down.

That leads me to the question: What IS the highest-rated recruit the Badgers have landed recently? Josh Ogelsby or John Clay is my guess And that's why a lot of these hs ranking lists are garbage. While it is an inexact science, that has MANY contributing factors that recruiting analysts can't take into account, I wouldn't say they are garbage. Scout can't predict that a kid is going to get hurt or arrested. Isn't it ironic that teams that consistantly finish with top 10 classes win/compete for national titles? Sure there are guys that fail when they were 5 stars, and guys that succeed as 2 stars. The same thing happens in every sport. But facts are facts. Teams with higher classes win more than teams with lower classes. It's a crap shoot when it comes to recruiting rankings and the success that team will have it with. It all comes down to how good the coaches can coach them up. Alabama has been getting top five recruiting classes for awhile now, and i think it has more to do with Nick Saban more then anything. Teams that are pretty irrelevant in the national championship landscape can get top 15 recruiting classes and still have done nothing with it. Teams like Miami, Texas, USC etc will always get top notch recruits but it doesn't boil just down to that.

For the most part, I don't really care who Alvarez chooses as head coach because i trust his judgement. Obviously i'd like to see Chris Peterson because he is a proven head coach, but if we couldn't him I hope we can get a guy with a defensive background. I'm not sure if Bob Diacco is still on the list but I think that could be a good hire.

Hopefully ND, Oregon and K State all take care of business and go undefeated. I would hate to see a one loss team from the SEC go to a national title game again. Does anyone else think that the SEC is pretty overrated? It seems like they are just extremely top heavy. Sure Bama and LSU/Florida are always in the mix, but there is a huge drop off to crap teams likes Tennessee, Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

Mike Brown shouldn't get all of the blame for the Lakers problems this year. The biggest problem for them last year was having a relatively old team without a lot of athleticism, and they didn't fix any of those problems besides nabbing Dwight Howard who was just coming off of back surgery.

Phillips is a huge upgrade over O'Brien. He doesn't look so frantic in the pocket all the time

Do you think it might have something to do with not getting a lot of reps in practice because he's not the #1 QB? How many backup QBs come in after an injury and pick up where the starter left off? Not many. Combine with the fact that the O-line looked more like the O-line of the first month of the season as opposed to the second month, and that the offensive play-calling got more conservative and predictable with O'Brien (possibly because of my initial point), and you get what you got. It's tough to look good when the defense is consistently in your backfield disrupting everything.
I still think that O'Brien got yanked to try to spark the offense, and Stave just hadn't done anything to lose the job. That doesn't mean that Stave is that much better than O'Brien (if at all). Neither QB has shown a very good pocket presence, and they don't see or feel pressure until too late.
O'Brien (presumably) should get the majority of the practice reps with the #1 offense over the next two weeks. I would like to think that should give him a renewed confidence and make him adequately prepared for Indiana on Nov. 10.
The sky hasn't fallen yet, Badger fans! There is much more to blame for this loss than Danny O'Brien. This was a good defense that Stave faced. And his stat line when he left the game was, 9/11 127 and a touchdown. yeah im saying thats better than any performance Obrien put up against any team hes faced this year. And against a much better defense. Stave's a better QB end of story Please see O'Brien in game #1 this season: 19/23, 219 yds, 2 TDI didn't say O'Brien was better, but there isn't much difference. UW does not have good QBs right now. When the run game isn't working, the QB situation only gets magnified. Throw a backup QB in that hasn't been working the game plan with the #1 unit in practice, and the QB situation gets magnified. MSU saw blood when Stave went out--they stacked up on the run and blitzed on passing downs. But that should be the case against any backup QB. Give O'Brien his two weeks of practice reps with the number one unit, and he should be fine. (See: Matt Flynn's two starts for the Packers) If he then stinks up the joint at Indiana, then I'll worry. yeah against FCS powerhouse Northern Iowa.

Did scientists figure out where he will land? That seems it would be real tough to determine where exactly he would land.
