Parents in my honest opinion are way too oblivious to their own child's mistakes and/or faults. Someone is always going to be unhappy at one time or another. Every parent wants the cake and eat it too.
It's very hard to find parents that accept what the honest truth is about their child and all the players involved. I once heard a quote which is very true I think and may apply to this article. "It Doesn't matter how good of a player you think you are, it is how good of a player your coach thinks you are."
Now I'm not saying every coach is a correct or great, but good coaches understand the game, and know how to evaluate each player, and hold them accountable for their mistakes. Whether your up by 20 or down by 20 they are always coaching and making sure an ill-advised mistake now and in a close game should have the same repercussions. Stay true to what your focus and values are, it shouldn't be what the parents want but what you believe will make your team and players more successful. The people that hired you should stand behind that decision no matter what parents want to say or do.

B1G is loaded again this year.....adding Tim Miles to Nebreska brings them to be serious competitors within 3 years....My pick for the best game is going to be UVA @ UW, Paul Jesperson comes back home to play in the Kohl Center again (state tourney last time). UVA Young and talented, UW kind of in the same boat.

And when was the last time the state aau tourney had any solid competition? 2006?? Last weekend any good team went out of state....this tournament means nothing

2014 there are some that are shocking to me like Wesenberg going from not in the top 25 at all to 9 he is a top 25 kid but not a top 10 IMO, although that class really doesn't have any dominate, true big men a few (Herink-hudson, Wesenberg & Averkamp-GT, Elmore-Somerset, Fabry-Wrightstown). So I understand that could help his pull, this class does have kids that are tall long and athletic but no true skill (Bunch, Harris, Burrell) but they get after it on the glass so I can understand some of their positioning.
But my biggest shocker was how Luke Zuiker Marshfield went from 9 to 12 which I could see but now is completely out of top 25 completely? He has high productivity in HS, the best player on his AAU team (WI Blaze), and his potential dad 6'10 brother 6'9, he's 6'5..6'6 plays a 3/4 I'm really thinking Mark accidentally put Sean Clarey where Luke should be, nothing against Clarey but he is not a top 20 kid maybe 20-25.
Either way I know people are going to talk about these rankings and say how they are biased, a joke, nobody knows what they are talking about this that and the other. Just hope kids use these as a learning tool to get better and either prove the people right or wrong. Maybe I'm wrong and kids will make me eat my words I hope they do because at least they are improving their game then.

Scott Gibbons, Ben Rissuew were the players from the 05 team....but you gotta realize that year the SW sectional was loaded with teams for D3 Darlington, Cuba City, New Glarus, Mineral Point, Fennimore. All respectively could have came out of the sectional....Cuba City beat New Glarus in the sectional semis....With a mental breakdown in the final seconds for NG......I think Andy Richard (older bro to Evan Richard) picked off a pass at half court that should never have been thrown to lay it in with 4-5 seconds left to take the lead and win.
Still think Cuba's best player of all time was my buddy Jube Moor, kid was awesome

Dekker is a great but he isn't a 2 nor close to a 3 at this moment, he still needs to develop better guard play and overall foot speed/quickness to play the 3 spot, he's a great stretch 4 for the big 10 at his level now...but losing Uthoff does hurt us tremendously he's high motor inside-out player, alot like Joe Krabbenhoft I think better than Joe IMO, been coaching against this kid for 2 summers and ever game he always played great, super tough, great IQ, he'll be missed greatly.

Lil_snacks wrote:Diamond Stone is a terrific player and will be a great player but i think playing his grade is what should happen..... playing up would bring nothing but positive things but Looney Didnt. Tokoto didnt. Dekker didnt. Lucious didnt. Playing up is overrated in my opinion....... Check ur facts all of these players played up looney has been playing u17 since 8th grade same with korie lucious dekker and Tokoto played up on occasions if a player can make an immediate impact and get valuable minutes against older stronger competition that will make him better which diamond needs to develope a feel for the game why not have him play up...if he's not gonna get valuable minutes then I see a reason to not play up....every player would be a case by case scenario but the more time diamond gets on the court whether its u15-u17 will make him better he is going to stay a high major prospect Regardless and I hope for the best from all our talented wisconsin players

This years race is very similar to 05 with Wes Matthews, Ryan Tillema, and J.R Blount......All three of these kids has huge careers and were very very talented and highly recruited for Wisconsin players during their time. I played with and against all 3 of them growing up. It'll be interesting to see how these 3 young men's race (JP, Sam, Zak) will turn out.
