WSN Basketball Senior Awards

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards presented by Taco Bell.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament.

WSN Senior Boys Basketball Awards -- Post Finalists:

Izaiah Anderson, Oshkosh North - Earned first-team all-league honors in the Fox Valley Association as a senior and second-team laurels as a junior. Outstanding post player who finishes exceptionally well in the lane.
Nick Arenz, Onalaska - Extremely skilled forward who can make perimeter shots and find teammates as an outstanding passer out of the high post and from the low block. Arenz is a big reason the Hilltoppers are 23-1 heading into Thursday's sectional semi-final battle with Rice Lake, averaging 11.4 points per game for head coach Craig Kowal.

Luke Heller, D.C. Everest - A four-year varsity player for D.E. Everest, Heller can score facing the basket from beyond the three-point arc or use his physical strength to score in the lane. A three-time first-team all-league pick in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, he was the league's Player of the Year as a senior after averaging 17.4 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest in leading the team to a conference title.

Brandon Staffeil, DeForest - A three-year varsity performer for coach Craig Weisbrod at DeForest. A very good perimeter shooter who can also finish well in the lane, Staffeil averaged 19.2 points per game as the Norskies finished second in the Badger-North behind Waunakee, who they face Thursday in a sectional semi-final contest.

Ryan Tachick, Bay Port - A three-year varsity performer who has played a key role in helping Bay Port remain among the elite programs in the Fox River Classic Conference, Tachick averaged a team-high 15.2 ppg as a senior. The Pirates finished second in the rugged FRCC this season.
