Howards Grove's Alexis Lindstrom selected as top Defensive player
Howards Grove's Alexis Lindstrom was selected as the top senior Defensive player as part of the 2012 WSN Senior Girls Basketball Awards presented by Taco Bell.
The Tigers had one of the toughest defenses in the state this season, allowing just 29.9 points per game while holding five opponents to less than 20 points. Lindstrom is the catalyst, putting pressure on the opposing guards to get them out of their comfort zone and force turnovers.
She averaged 4.6 steals per game this year, and led the team in rebounding with 4.9 per game despite standing just 5-7. Lindstrom helped theTigers to a share of the Central Lakeshore title and a berth in the Division 4 state tournament.
Finalists for the award were Lindstrom, Katelynn Hoppman of Southwestern, Emily Neitzel of Lomira, Courtney Smith of Nicolet, and Deysha Smith-Jenkins of Dominican.
