Athlete of the Week Nominees for Sept. 3-9

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of September 3-9. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Anna Nyberg, Tomahawk girls volleyball. The Hatchets defeated Laconia in the championship match of the Dodgeland Inviational 25-13, 25-11. Nyberg had 63 kills, 12 aces and 44 digs for Tomahawk in four matches. 

Brooke Ferrell, Edgerton girls golf. Ferrell shot a 69 in the Middleton Invite at the Pleasant View Golf Course to take the championship.

Aubrey Roberts, Eau Claire Memorial girls cross country. Roberts set a 5k course record, 18:27, to lead the Old Abes to a first place team finish.

Sara DePouw, Oconto girls volleyball. DePouw led the Blue Devils to the Shawano Inivational Championship, while collecting 59 kills, 10 blocks and 36 digs.

Sam Anderson, Stevens Point boys cross country. Finished with a time of 16:18 in the SPASH Invitational at Standing Rock County Park. Stevens Point finished with the top four runners and collected the championship.
