Athlete of the Week Nominees for September 10-16

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of September 10-16. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Sam Siebenaller, Germantown girls swimming. Germantown won the Pirate Invitational at Pewaukee on Saturday. Sam won four events for the Warhawks: 200-yard medley relay, 200 individual medley, 100 butterfly and 200 free relay.

Annie Goerdt, Green Bay Preble girls volleyball. Goerdt led the Hornets to the Kaukauna Invitational Championship on Saturday and also set the career kills record for Preble. She collected 38 kills which gave her 824 in her career.

Derek Ott, Middleton boys soccer. The Cardinals (10-1-1, 6-0 in the Big Eight) behind two goals from Ott now have sole possession of first place after their 3-1 win over Madison West.

Meredith Holt, La Crosse Logan girls tennis. Holt won the No. 1 singles championship at the Wisconsin Rapids Invitational on Saturday going 3-0.

Carl Hirsch, Brookfield Central boys cross country. Hirsch won the Racine St. Catherine's Angel Invite at UW-Parkside with a meet-record time of 15 minutes 22.1 seconds.
