Athlete of the Week Nominees for October 22-28

Below are the nominees for the Army National Guard Athlete of the Week for the week of October 22-28. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

McKaela Christenson, Baraboo girls cross country. Christenson captured the Division 1 girls cross country title at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids. She finished the 4,000-meter course in 14 minutes, 12.65 seconds.

Becca Roembke, Kettle Moraine Lutheran girls volleyball. Roembke collected 23 kills and 16 digs in the Chargers win over Catholic Memorial to advance to the state tournament. 

Sam Schwieger, Grantsburg girls volleyball. Schwieger led the Pirates with 24 kills and totaled 14 digs in their win over Regis to make a trip to the state tournament. 

Tarek Yaeggi, Watertown football. Yaeggi threw for 562 yards and 7 touchdowns in the Goslings 54-49 win over Waukesha West in Level 2 of the WIAA Playoffs on Saturday.

Nathan Peters, Freedom football. Peters ran for 307 yard and 5 touchdowns on 29 carriers in the Irish's Level 2 WIAA Playoff win over Marshall 41-33 on Friday night.
