Week 1 WisSports.net Coaches Poll

Division 1

Germantown remains the #1 choice in Division 1, but the Warhawks certainly got a scare last week. The defending champs needed a putback at the buzzer from Luke Fischer to defeat a very good Brookfield Central squad 66-64. Milwaukee King again holds down the #2 spot, but former #3 Appleton West has dropped out of the rankings after a loss to rival Appleton North. Milwaukee Vincent slides up to third, followed by Sun Prairie and Milwaukee Hamilton. Appleton East makes its debut in the rankings at #9 sporting a 4-0 mark, while Brookfield Central is 10th with a 1-1 record.

Division 2

There isn't much change in the top portion of the Division 2 Coaches Poll as Onalaska once again has a commanding lead in the voting. Rice Lake is 2nd. Plymouth continues its strong start and is 3rd at 4-0, while Waunakee moves up to 4th after Whitefish Bay suffered a dominating loss to Germantown and drops to #8. Catholic Memorial led Sussex Hamilton at the half last Thursday but ended up dropping a 65-58 decision, moving the Crusaders from 5th to 7th this week.

Division 3

It was a pretty stable week in the Division 3 rankings, as just one ranked team suffered a defeat. Little Chute continues to occupy the top spot as a nearly unanimous #1, while East Troy, Wisconsin Dells, and Lodi are grouped pretty tightly behind them. Racine St. Catherine's had been 5th but lost to Kenosha Tremper, temporarily dropping the Angels out of the poll. Dodgeville is the only new team this week, debuting at #10.

Division 4

Dominican posted its first two wins of the year last week over solid teams from Kenosha St. Joseph and Milwaukee Washington and remains on top of the Division 4 rankings. Both teams won last week but Brookfield Academy slipped ahead of Southwestern for the #2 spot. Likewise, Cuba City flip-flopped with Auburndale into the #4 position. Elk Mound posted an impressive win over former #7 Fall Creek Monday night and moved up one notch to #8 while the Crickets dropped out of the poll.

Division 5

Randolph is on top of the Division 5 Coaches Poll this week but Green Bay NEW Lutheran received a handful of first place votes as well. The Blazers settle into the #2 spot after being ranked 4th last week, with Royall, Suring, and Drummond rounding out the top five. Ninth-ranked Milwaukee Academy of Science and #10 Monticello are new teams to this week's rankings.
