A pair of stalwarts are on top of their respective divisions in the WSN Cup standings following the Fall Sports season, but a new face has emerged in the smallest grouping.

The WSN Cup is an award that honors schools that provide and achieve success in many of the WIAA sponsored sports. The award totals points earned in both boys and girls sports. All WIAA sponsored sports are included as part of the scoring for the award.

In the Large Schools Division (enrollment over 1000 students), five-time defending champion Arrowhead once again holds a dominating lead. The Warhawks scored an incredible 425 points in the Fall Sports season, marking their highest single-season total since the award began and ranking as the second-highest single-season total overall behind the 465 by Catholic Memorial in the fall of 2008. Arrowhead claimed state titles in football and girls cross country while the girls swimming & diving team took second. The boys cross country team was fourth while girls golf, girls tennis, and boys volleyball also scored points. Homestead is second with 310 points while Middleton, Kettle Moraine, Neenah, and Appleton North round out the top six.

Madison Edgewood claimed three straight WSN Cup titles before Notre Dame unseated them the past two seasons. The Crusaders are back on top for now however, leading the Medium Schools Division (enrollment 500-1000) with 355 points, which puts them second behind Arrowhead in the overall standings. The always strong girls golf team scored yet another state title while girls tennis and girls volleyball claimed runner-up finishes. Girls cross country, girls swimming/diving, boys soccer, and football also scored points for the Crusaders. Shorewood is close behind in second with 335 points whiel Notre Dame, Freedom, and Xavier round out the top five.

Aquinas made an incredible comeback in the spring sports to capture a fifth straight Small Schools Division (enrollment below 500) trophy last season, and to repeat again they will hae to come from behind once again. Darlington is tops in the Small Schools Division after the Fall Sports season with 225 points. A strong cross country program did much of the work, with the boys team claiming a state title while the girls were the runners-up. The football team advanced to the state quarterfinals as well. Regis is close behind with 219.5 points while Oostburg, Aquinas, and Racine St. Catherine's round out the top five.

Divisions - Starting in 2008-09 schools will be placed in three divisions. The Large School Division is for schools with enrollment over 1000. Medium Schools are classified as 500 to 1000 and Small School division is below 500. Schools are divided into two divisions based on enrollment. In 2007-08 schools with enrollments of 900 or more were in the large school division while schools with enrollments up to 900 were in the small schools division.

Points - Points are awarded for finishes in the state tournament of every team sport. Generally, the top 32 teams in each sport are awarded points. If less than 32 teams participate in a non-bracket sport state meet then those are the only schools that are awarded points. For Co-op teams the total points are divided based on enrollment of the schools that participate in the co-op team.
