Senior Girls Basketball Awards: Shooter Finalists

Wisconsin Sports Network is proud to showcase the WSN High School Basketball Awards.

The pre-season watch list was trimmed down to 15 semi-finalists, and five finalists for the award have now been selected. Winners are announced the week of the state tournament. Finalists are eligible for just one of the five awards. There will be a total of 25 finalists for the five awards, five different players for each award.

WSN Senior Girls Basketball Awards -- Shooter Finalists:

Rachel Atchison, East Troy -- Atchison is averaging 16.8 points per game for the Trojans, doing the majority of her damage from 3-point land. She is one of the top sharpshooters in the state, connecting on 80 three-pointers while shooting over 44%. 

Morgan Anderson, De Pere -- Anderson was a key piece for the Redbirds in last year's Division 1 state championship. While De Pere fell to Kimberly in last night's sectional semi-final, she finished with an impressive senior season. The Michigan Tech recruit totaled 33 threes on the season and averaged 13.1 points per game. She also contibuted 3.8 assists and 2.7 steals per contest. 

Abbie Hein, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran -- Hein (5-9) was key to the Lancers Division 5 sectional semi-final appearnce with her shooting ability. She connected on 46 three-pointers while shooting over 42%. Hein ended the year averaging 19.6 points, 10 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 3.8 steals per game. 

Brianna Byrne, Notre Dame -- Notre Dame is one game away from reaching the state tournament for the second consecutive year. Byrne has been a consistent shooter for the Tritons making over 50% of her shots. In FRCC play she connected on 25 of 54 threes (46%).

Maggie Novak, Divine Savior Holy Angels -- Novak holds the school-record for career threes and this season played a key role in the Dashers sectional semi-final appearance. The UW-Oshkosh recruit connected on 45 three-pointers and averaged 8.2 points per game.
