Baraboo's Samantha Terry has been selected as the top senior Wing player as part of the WSN Senior Girls Basketball Awards.

Terry has been outstanding this season and helped the Thunderbirds to the Badger-North title and trip to the state sectional semi-finals. The 6-0 senior is averaging 18.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.8 assists per contest.

Capable of scoring from the perimeter or driving to the basket, she is also an outstanding free throw shooter. Terry is a four-time First Team All-Conference selection in the tough Badger-North Conference and went over the 1000 point mark for her career earlier this season.

“Sam has all of the attributes that a coach looks for in a player," head coach Dave Crane said of his senior standout earlier this year. "She is skilled with the ball, can shoot the 3 better and from deeper areas of the court that any high school female I have ever seen.

"She has length, is strong, but I believe that her greatest attributes are that she is both physically and mentally tough! She is so focused to compete and pulls those around her to a higher level.”

Finalists for the award were Terry, Morgan Blumer of Milton, Brenna Heise of New London, Cassidy Mihalko of Franklin, and McKayla Yentz of Sun Prairie.

Brittney Fair of Nicolet received the award last season.
