The Kenosha Indian Trail Hawks have been selected as the Week 2 WSN Team of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. The team posted a non-conference victory over one of the top teams in the state of Illinois. The Hawks were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 2. A total of 1796 votes were cast, as Indian Trail's 896 votes edged out the 448 of Mondovi.

In just its second year as a varsity program, Indian Trail is making a statement early in the season. After knocking off Eastern Wisconsin Conference favorite Plymouth last week, the Hawks took on Stevenson (IL), the top-ranked team in Illinois' largest class. Trailing 14-6 at halftime, Indian Trail got a safety from Jeromy Jorgensen in the third, followed by a 17-yard touchdown run from quarterback Zack Gianakos to go up 15-14. The margin held as they went on for the win. Gianakos struggled passing the ball but ran for 87 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Andrew Jazdzewski added 92 yards on the ground.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named WSN Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 3 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
