WisSports.net Week 3 Player of the Week Nominees:

Ike Floyd, Saint Mary's Springs - Springs got a stiff test Friday night from Omro, the last Flyway team to beat the Ledgers back in October of 2010. Leading just 16-7 at the half, Floyd took a handoff 72 yards for a touchdown midway through the third quarter to give the Ledgers some breathing room on their way to a 30-7 victory. He finished the day with 277 yards on 20 carries with 3 touchdowns.

Alex Lasinski, Hortonville - Both Hortonville and Seymour have designs on challenging West De Pere's supremacy in the Bay Conference, and their meeting last Friday night went a long ways in determining who would have the best shot to unseat the champs. What was expected to be a close game turned into a runaway victory for Hortonville, who won 28-2 behind 268 yards and 3 long touchdowns runs from Lasinski. He opened the scoring with an 80-yard scamper in the first quarter, then added a 45-yarder in the third quarter and a 54-yard score in the 4th. He'd finish with 26 carries in the game.

Isaiah Pitchford, Waukesha South - Waukesha South is off to a bit of a surprising 3-0 start to the season, and on Friday night scored one of the most impressive victories the program has had in several years. Traveling to Muskego, the Blackshirts were down 14-6 with just over 9 minutes left in the game when a blitz of scoring began. Behind two rushing touchdowns from Pitchford, South found themselves tied 28-28 with just seconds remaining. Pitchford then booted the game-winning 34-yard field goal with three seconds left to give South a 31-28 win. He finished the game with 25 carries for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.

Nate Sorenson, Eau Claire North - Eau Claire North snapped a 19-game losing streak in a big way with a 46-14 win over River Falls Friday night. Sorenson scored 5 touchdowns in the game -- 3 on the ground, 1 through the air, and 1 on a 4-yard fumble return. He'd finish with 149 yards and 3 touchdowns on 10 carries plus the 59-yard touchdown reception as the Huskies opened Big Rivers play 1-0.

Ricky Williams, Edgerton - Going against Rock Valley-North heavyweight Brodhead/Juda in a Week 3 crossover, Edgerton came up with a big win as they rallied to defeat the Cardinals 28-20. Williams made numerous big plays in the running game on his way to a 342-yard rushing day. He ran it 26 times for a 13.2 yards per carry average with 3 touchdowns. His 55-yard scoring gallop midway through the fourth quarter provided the game-winning points for the Crimson Tide.
