WisSports.net Week 5 Team of the Week Nominees:

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau -- G-E-T found itself trailing defending Coulee Conference champion Black River Falls 23-8 on the road with just over 8 minutes left, but exploded for 34 fourth quarter points and a 42-31 win to remain unbeaten in league play. Erik Van Vleet scored a pair of rushing scores in the final period and Lucas Scherr returned an interception 22-yards for a score as the Red Hawks put up 26 points in a span of 4 minutes, 11 seconds at one point.

Reedsburg -- The Beavers not only ended Waunakee's 15-year home field winning streak, they did so in dominating fashion. Reedsburg's defense held Waunakee to just 6 total yards and no first downs in the first half as they bottled up running back Troy Laufenberg and kept the passing game in check. For the game, Waunakee finished with 134 total yards and just 4 first downs. Lucas Muchow ran 15 times for 192 yards and two 70+ touchdowns for the Beavers, who also got 94 yards from Dylan Peterson with 364 rushing yards as a team on 56 carries.

Roncalli-- The Jets have taken on all comers so far this season and have made it through unbeaten so far. They've scored at least 34 points in every game and not given up more than 7 in any contest. Friday night, the tangled with Wrightstown and came away with a 35-6 victory. A balanced rushing attack racked up 285 yards and 5 scores on the ground, led by 140 yards and 3 touchdowns from Alex Deets.

Shiocton-- The Shiocton vs. Amherst battles the last few years have been outstanding, and usually determined the CWC-8 champion. A back and forth affair was tied at 7 at halftime and knotted up at 14 early in the fourth quarter. That's when Shiocton sophomore linebacker Henry Fielding stepped in front of a Garrett Groshek pass and returned it 26 yards for the game-winning points as the Chiefs claimed a hard-fought 21-14 victory. Shiocton senior Jacob Van Asten threw a 75-yard touchdown pass and also rushed 21 times for 110 yards and a touchdown.

Sussex Hamilton-- Faced with the possibility of falling to 1-2 in the Greater Metro, the Sussex Hamilton team dug deep and turned a 14-7 deficit with under 2 minutes to go in the first half into a 42-14 victory over previously undefeated Menomonee Falls as they rattled off the game's final 35 points. A punishing ground game rolled up 425 yards and 5 touchdowns, led by Isaiah Webb (188 yards, 3 TD) and Drew Patterson (153 yards, 2 TD). The win sets up a game next week against Marquette, the only remaining team unbeaten in GMC play.
