WisSports.net Week 7 Player of the Week Nominees:

Chandler Diekvoss, West De Pere-- Diekvoss did a little bit of everything as the Phantoms held off Seymour in a key Bay Conference showdown. Lining up all over the field this year, he spent most of his time on offense as a receiver Friday night, hauling in 10 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. Diekvoss also returned an interception 75 yards for a second quarter touchdown and recovered a fumble on defense to help West De Pere remain unbeaten.

Jake Giordana, Hudson-- Three Big Rivers teams entered Friday night unbeaten in league play, including Hudson and Superior. Jake Giordana was a key player on both sides of the ball for the Raiders, catching 4 passes for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding 8 tackles on defense. His 43-yard scoring catch from Landry Otten with 50 seconds left in the third quarter put Hudson back on top 21-18, and his 30-yard touchdown reception with 1:25 remaining provided the game's final points as Hudson won 35-18.

James Morgan, Ashwaubenon -- Morgan entered the season as one of the top prospects in the Class of 2015, and has steadily gotten better throughout the year. Taking on fellow unbeaten Bay Port with control of the FRCC on the line, he came up huge in a 28-14 victory for the Jaguars. Morgan completed 22 of 44 passes for 424 yards and 3 touchdowns as Ashwaubenon moved into sole possession of first place in the conference. He also added a 4-yard scoring scamper late in the fourth quarter to salt the game away.

Charlie Reit, Arcadia -- A back and forth affair between two undefeated teams came right down to the end on a rainy night in Westby, and special teams ended up being the difference. A Sam Schweisthal interception with 1:35 left in a tie game set up the heroics by sophomore kicker Charlie Reit. With 10 seconds left on the clock he booted a 40-yard field goal to give the visiting Raiders a thrilling 17-14 win and keep them atop the Coulee Conference standings.

Dylan Szews, Menasha -- Menasha has not been afraid to feed their featured running backs in the last few years, and Friday night was no different. In a tight battle with VFA-South co-leader Marshfield, the Blue Jays turned to senior Dylan Szews, who carried the ball 35 times for 260 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 35-27 victory. Szews scored three second quarter touchdowns to put Menasha up 28-14 at halftime, then rumbled in from 7 yards out with 7:22 remaining in the game to give Menasha some breathing room after Marshfield had pulled within 1.
