Notre Dame jumped out early on DeForest in the Division 2 state title game, and held off the Norskies to claim a 52-42 victory and second straight championship. It is the third WIAA gold ball for the Tritons, who also took home the hardware in 2001.

Sisters Eliza and Olivia Campbell combined for 13 of Notre Dame's 18 first quarter points as they held an 18-6 advantage after an Allie LeClaire jumper with one second left on the clock.

The lead ballooned to 16 points early in the second quarter, but DeForest was able to stem the tide with a 9-2 run to end the half.

The teams went back and forth in the third quarter, but ultimately Notre Dame maintained its 12 point advantage heading into the final period.

DeForest was finally able to must some momentum offensively, butting the margin to single digits with 5:45 left to play. The Norskies whittled away at Notre Dame's advantage over the next several minutes, pulling within 44-40 with 2:38 left.

Notre Dame made the kind of winning plays you'd expect from a defending champ down the stretch however, scoring the next six points of the game and closing it out with five straight made free throws to provide the winning margin.

Allie LeClaire, a Green Bay recruit, scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half, adding 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 assists as well. Fellow senior Eliza Campbell added 12 points and 11 rebounds for Notre Dame.

Junior Kayla Goth and sophomore Cassidy Byrd led DeForest with 11 points.
