Cuba City girls basketball became the first girls program to win 10 state titles when they won the Division 4 state title on Saturday at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The Cubans are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week

Cuba City defeated Algoma 49-28 in the championship game. The Cubans shot 42.5 percent from the field and went 12-for-16 from the free throw line. Algoma, on the other hand, connected on just 27.9 percent of their shots.

Junior Mollie Wedige led the Cubans with 18 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 9 for 13 from the field.

Sophomore Jessi Marti finished with 15 points and junior Chloe Pustina added 9 points for coach Jeff Pustina and the Cubans.

The Cubans beat Regis 52-39 in a state semi-final, shooting 39.5 percent from the floor and going 7-for-11 on three-pointers.

Pustina scored a game-high 18 points and went 5-for-5 from behind the arc. The five made threes without a miss is the most in state tournament history. She also tied the Division 4 record for made threes in a state tournament game, along with tying the D4 record for made threes in tournament with 6.

Wedige finished with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 blocks for the Cubans. Marti contributed 9 points and 3 steals in the victory.

Cuba City finished 27-1 on the season and Pustina won his 8th title as head coach.
