Athlete of the Week Nominees, April 14-20

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of April 14 through April 20. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Eric Cefalu, Madison La Follette baseball, went 3-for-4 and drove in the game-winning run in the top of the 8th to lift the Lancers past Sun Prairie 3-2 and end the Cardinals 30-game winning streak. 

Haley Hestekin, Kaukauna softball, helped the Galloping Ghosts to the championship at the Sun Prairie Invitational on Saturday. She struck out 11 Baraboo hitters in their 10-0 win while finishing with 2 hits. In the title game she also struck out 11 and added 2 hits in their 10-0 win. 

Kolton Kelley, Beloit Memorial boys golf, finished first at the the 23-team field at the Monona Grove Invitational with a 1-over 72. He also helped the Purple Knights to a second place team finish at the invitational. 

Christian Lucchesi, Wisconsin Lutheran boys track and field, finished in first place in the pole vault at the Watertown Gosling Open on Saturday with a pole vault of 14 feet. That is tied for the highest pole vault in the state this season.

Nadia Williams, Mount Horeb girls track and field, finished first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.93 seconds at the Badger Conference Invitational. That time also puts her in the top spot in the 200-meter dash in the state so far this season.
