Splash of the Week: Middleton softball

Middleton softball defeated DeForest in six innings to claim a Division 1 Regional Championship. The Cardinals are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week

Six-seed Middleton knocked off 3-seed DeForest 10-0 in six innings to advance to sectionals. 

Amber Karn hit a three-run home run in the first inning and added a two-run double in the sixth inning to lead the Cardinals past the Norkies. 

Katie Fermanich and Darby Raffel each added a pair of hits for Middleton in the victory.

Cardinals pitcher Ashley Stormer scattered five hits and finished with 6 strikeouts to earn the win. 

Middleton beat 11-seed Holmen 8-7 in 8-innings in a Regional Semi-Final on Wednesday. 

The Cardinals (17-7) are making the first sectional appearance since 2011 and will face No. 2 seed Madison La Follette for the third time this year. Middleton was shut out in both games, 4-0 and 3-0.
