Athlete of the Week Nominees, June 9-15

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of June 9 through 15. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Mandy Brux, Kettle Moraine girls soccer, scored two goals and assisted on another to help the Lasers defeat Madison West 5-2 and earn their first trip to the state tournament. 

Chris Colla, Winnebago Lutheran boys golf, finished four-under par to win the individual Division 2 State Championship. He shot four shots better than the second place finisher in D2 and two shots better than the D1 and D3 winners.

Rochelle Koshalek, Mosinee softball, finished with 8 strikeouts and had a streak of 16 hitters retired in the Indians 2-0 win over defending champ New London to capture the Division 2 State Title. She also struck out 7 in their 6-0 win over McFarland in a state semifinal. 

Josh Peterson, Mondovi baseball, drove in the game-tying run with a double in the 7th inning during their 9-4 win over Stanley-Boyd in a sectional semifinal. Peterson pitched the sectional final game, allowing just an unearned run and striking out 4 in their 9-1 win over Cumberland to advance to the state tournament. 

McKaela Ryan, Oakfield softball, went 2-for-4 with a run scored in the Oaks 7-3 win over Cochrane-Fountain City in the Division 4 State Title game. She also got the win and totaled 5 strikeouts. In their 6-4 state semifinal win over Assumption, McKaela finished with 10 strikeouts and added an RBI at the plate.
