Homestead baseball defeated Whitefish Bay to keep their North Shore title hopes alive on Thursday. The Highlanders are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week.

Homestead (18-6, 11-5) knocked off Whitefish Bay (22-4, 14-3) 7-3 on Thursday. The Highlanders entered the game ranked No. 6 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel rankings, while Whitefish Bay was No. 2 in the rankings.

Jared Stieve pitched the first 3 2/3 innings for Homestead and stuck out two, while Chris Mueller tossed the final 3 1/3 and finished with three strikeouts.

Ian Koch and Luke Neusen each totaled two hits for the Highlanders, while Mike Schulz added a hit and three RBI.

Homestead lost to Whitefish Bay 13-1 in their first matchup of the season. The Highlanders are hot at the right time, they are winners of 7 of their last 10 games.

The road to a North Shore title will be tough for Homestead as they need to win their final two conference games and need Whitefish Bay to lose their last two.

The Splash of the Week is sponsored by PlayInTheDells.com. It highlights the player, coach or team that has "made a splash" in the world of high school sports. This could mean coming out of nowhere to do something great, going above and beyond the call of duty, etc.  If you have a nominee for Splash of the Week please send it to info@wissports.net.
