Wisconsin All-Stars get 32 from Noskowiak to nip Indiana and finish 4-0 in Rising Senior Academy

Sun Prairie senior Nick Noskowiak erupted for a team-high 32 points Monday afternoon as the Wisconsin All-Stars rallied from an 18-point second-half deficit to defeat Indiana 84-81 in the final game of the Rising Senior Academy at Davis High School in Indianapolis.

Noskowiak, a 6-foot-2 guard who is headed to Marquette, made five three-point baskets against Indiana to help Wisconsin overcome a 38-30 halftime deficit.

West Allis Central senior point guard Brandon Key (5-11) added 22 points for Wisconsin, which finished 4-0 in the five-team event.

"For a group of kids as talented as they are, I thought they played very unselfish basketball," said Lance Marifke, the head coach at Saint Francis who also served as one of the coaches for the Wisconsin team in Indianapolis. "Brevin Pritzl found Nick open a few times in the second half and Matt Heldt did a great job of finding Nick out of the post.

"The kids put their egos aside for the greater good."

Pritzl, a 6-3 wing player headed to Wisconsin, finished with 10 points for Wisconsin, followed by Heldt with eight, Stoughton senior Nick McGlynn (6-8) with six, Pius XI senior Levi Bradley (6-7) with four and Sun Prairie senior JT Ruffin (6-6) with two.

Wisconsin All-Stars 61, Ohio All-Stars 57
The Wisconsin All-Stars registered a hard-earned 61-57 victory over the Ohio All-Stars Tuesday morning at Davis High School in Indianapolis in Game 3 of the Rising Senior Academy Showcase.

Wisconsin (3-0) takes on Indiana (3-0) later today to conclude its trip.

Sun Prairie senior and Marquette recruit Nick Noskowiak paced a balanced scoring attack for Wisconsin against Ohio with 13 points.

Wisconsin, which led 29-25 at intermission, also got 12 points apiece from Neenah senior and Marquette recruit Matt Heldt along with Pius XI senior Levi Bradley.

Other scoring totals for the Wisconsin team against Ohio included De Pere senior and Wisconsin recruit Brevin Pritzl with eight, Stoughton senior and Drake recruit Nick McGlynn with seven, West Allis Central senior Brandon Key with six and Sun Prairie senior JT Ruffin with two.

Wisconsin All-Stars 106, Iowa All-Stars 70
De Pere senior and Wisconsin recruit Brevin Pritzl scored 23 points and Sun Prairie senior and Marquette recruit Nick Noskowiak added 22 as the Wisconsin All-Stars registered a 106-70 victory over Iowa at the Rising Senior Academy in Indianapolis Monday evening. 

Wisconsin took a 56-41 lead over Iowa at intermission and cruised to the victory behind the strong shooting of Pritzl and Noskowiak.

Other scorers for Wisconsin in the victory over Iowa included 11 points each for Matt Heldt of Neenah, Nick McGlynn of Stoughton, Levi Bradley of Pius XI and Brandon Key of West Allis Central; eight for Sy Staver of Mineral Point; seven for JT Ruffin of Sun Prairie; and two for Zach Gaines of Cuba City.

Wisconsin All-Stars 94, Washington (state) All-Stars 66
Earlier on Monday, the Wisconsin All-Stars posted a convincing 94-66 victory over the Washington (state) All-Stars.

The contest was Game 1 in the annual Rising Senior Academy. Other states participating in the event include Iowa, Ohio and Indiana.

Sun Prairie senior Nick Noskowiak, a Marquette University recruit, scored 21 points to lead the Wisconsin All-Stars past Washington.

Neenah senior Matt Heldt, also a Marquette recruit, added 18 points for Wisconsin, which is scheduled to play Iowa at 8 p.m. today.

Other scoring totals for the Wisconsin All-Stars included Brandon Key of West Allis Central with 12 points, JT Ruffin of Sun Prairie with nine points, Sy Staver of Mineral Point and Nick McGlynn of Stoughton with eight points each, Levi Bradley of Milwaukee Pius XI and Brevin Pritzl of De Pere with six points apiece and Zach Gaines of Cuba City with three points.
