Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees, August 25th-31st

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of August 25 through 31. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Alexis Alden, Catholic Memorial girls volleyball, finished with 15 kills and 10 digs in their win over Burlington in the championship game at the St. Thomas More/Homestead Joust. For the season she has 89 kills and 74 digs in 22 sets. 

Halie Ferry, Notre Dame girls volleyball, helped the Tritons finish with a 12-0 record at the Janesville Invitational held at Janesville Craig, beating Cuba City 25-15, 15-12 in the title game. She compiled 86 kills, 59 digs, and 11 aces at the invite. 

Scott Hietpas, Little Chute football, caught 4 passes for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Mustangs 21-6 victory against Wrightstown on Friday.

Ryan Nameth, Verona boys cross country, won the Herold Invitational cross country title in a time of 16 minutes, 30 seconds in the 500-meter. He finished 25 seconds faster than second place. 

Luke Nowak, Iowa-Grant football, carried the ball 22 times for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns, completed a pass for 34 yards and a touchdown, and finished with 7 tackles and an interception on defense in the Panthers 34-27 win over Palmyra-Eagle on Friday.
