Watertown Luther Prep defeated Wisconsin Dells to end a 13-game losing streak on Friday night. The Phoenix are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week.
Watertown Luther Prep (1-2) built a 21-7 halftime lead and went on to beat Wisconsin Dells 33-13 on Friday. Their last win was a 14-10 win against Lake Mills on September 28, 2012.
Quarterback Ian Paulsen went 6-for-11 passing with 99 yards and scored 2 touchdowns on the ground.
Paulsen's first touchdown was a 1-yard run with 58 seconds to go before the half to give the Phoenix a 21-7 lead. He also scored from 18 yards out with 7:10 left in the fourth quarter to put WLP up 33-13.
Running backs Jacob Schmidt and Jalen Endicott each found the end zone for Watertown Luther Prep in the victory.
Schmidt carried the ball 9 times for 53 yards and scored a touchdown from 18-yards out with 6:42 left in the first quarter.
Endicott finished with 51 yards on 13 carries with his touchdown (1-yard run) coming with 11:39 left in the second quarter.
Josh Schroeder led the Phoenix in receiving with 4 catches for 83 yards.
Watertown Luther Prep will face Marshall (2-0), ranked No. 5 in D4 on Friday night.
