Things started slowly for the Reedsburg Beavers in their Badger-North Conference battle at DeForest on Friday, as they found themselves trailing 7-0 after the first quarter. After tying it 7-7 at halftime, Reedsburg blew things open in the second half and cruised home for a 49-27 win in the "I90 Bowl" on CW57 Sports.

Until a 17-10 overtime victory on Homecoming last season, Reedsburg had never beaten DeForest. Now, they've won two years in a row.

What was a tight, defensive-oriented 7-7 game at halftime turned into a shootout in the second half, as Reedsburg pulled away behind an explosive ground game. They racked up 440 rushing yards against the usually stout DeForest defense, with only one pass attempt (which fell incomplete). Fullback Chris Jepson had 13 carries for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns, Lucas Muchow finished with 9 carries for 149 yards and 2 scores, and Dylan Peterson added 125 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 carries.

The extremely difficult early season schedule continues for the Beavers in Week 4 as they travel to defending Division 3 champion Monona Grove.
