WisSports.net Week 4 Team of the Week Nominees:

Big Foot -- Do you know where you were on Friday, October 13th, 2006? Because that is the last time the Big Foot Chiefs lost a conference game, going down 14-7 to Evansville/Albany. Since then, they've reeled off 49 straight league victories, including a come from behind 28-27 win over Jefferson last Friday in overtime. Things didn't look promising when Jefferson took a 21-7 lead just behind halftime and it held up through the third quarter. But Big Foot showed its resolve, rallying behind quarterback Brett Morris, who ran for a score and threw for another to tie the game at 21 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Big Foot got the ball first and was facing a fourth and three when Brandon Hausner scored from 5 yards out. Jefferson scored on its first play of overtime, but could not convert the potential game-winning two-point run as Big Foot pulled out a 28-27 victory.

Hurley -- Tucked away in far Northern Wisconsin competing in a conference of Michigan schools, the Hurley Midgets don't often end up on most people's radar around the state, despite consistent playoff success (including a pair of state semi-final runs in the last six years). Hurley's 18-14 win over Crystal Falls/Forest Park (MI) may not have registered with many people, but it was historic nonetheless. The comeback victory marked the first time in history that Hurley had won at Forest Park, who entered at #4 in Michigan's D8 poll. Down 14-6 with under 6 minutes left, Hurley was able to drive for a touchdown with 2:56 remaining to pull within 14-12, but failed on the two-point conversion attempt. After a failed onside kick attempt, they used all three timeouts and forced a punt, taking over on their own 32 yard line with 2:20 left in the game and no timeouts. In the rain, they converted a 4 and 11 on the drive and made it to the 1-yard line with 3.1 seconds left. Devin Czerneski went in from a yard out with no time left on the clock to secure the win.

Monona Grove -- The defending Division 3 state champions went down in Week 1 to Mount Horeb/Barneveld, but have come roaring back the last several weeks. On Friday, they got some big plays from quarterback Steven Martine and a standout defensive performance as they took down unbeaten and defending Badger-North Conference champ Reedsburg 26-7. The Silver Eagles found themselves down early as Reedsburg scored on its first drive to go up 7-0. Martine would score a pair of rushing touchdowns to put Monona Grove up 13-7 at halftime. On Reedsburg's first play of the second half, fullback Chris Jepson took a dive up the middle for 60 yards, but Trey Powers caught him from behind to prevent a touchdown. The MG defense would hold on the goal-to-go situation however, stopping Reedsburg on fourth down. Martine found Powers a few plays later for a 79-yard touchdown strike that provided a cushion, and junior running back Toren Young added another insurance touchdown shortly after. Monona Grove controlled the fourth quarter, running off the last 11:08 of the game on a lengthy game-ending drive.

Muskego -- The Warriors and Waukesha West both came into Friday's Classic Eight showdown unbeaten, and it seemed things were on track for a tight ballgame. After Muskego scored with 1:39 left in the first half to go up 17-14, Waukesha West's Cody Kujawa returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and a 21-17 West lead at the break. It stayed that way until midway through the third, when Muskego's offense erupted. In the next eight minutes of game action across the third and fourth quarters, the Warriors scored 29 points and cruised home for a 52-28 victory. Quarterback Jeff Schweitzer completed 7 of 8 passes for 207 yards and a score, while the rushing attack racked up 377 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground. Ryan Borton led the way with 180 yards on just 7 carries, while James Schwabe chipped in with 112 yards as well. Muskego remains unbeaten on the season and establishes themselves as one of the contenders in the Classic Eight, though games against Catholic Memorial, Arrowhead, and Mukwonago await in the final three weeks of the year.

West Bend East -- The Suns hadn't found victory since the final game of the 2011 season, but going up against defending Little Ten Conference champ Oconomowoc, West Bend East rallied from an early 14-0 hole to claim a 15-14 victory. Oconomowoc jumped out with two scores in the first quarter, but East got a bit of momentum with a second quarter safety, which proved to be pivotal later on. Brendon Kranz and Griffin Marolla scored 1-yard touchdowns in the third quarter, with the extra point successful on the second score. The Suns held on from there, scoring their first win since a 28-25 defeat of Hartford in 2011. Kasey Reich carried the ball 30 times for 101 yards as the team ran up 192 yards on the ground. The defense was outstanding, bottling up the Oconomowoc attack and holding them to less than 90 yards of offense in the game.
