Air National Guard Week 4 Player of the Week Nominees:

Dwayne Corbitt, Slinger - As the weather turns colder, the running game will take on an increased role around the state, which will result in some higher number of carries for primary running backs. Not many are likely to top the 40 carries by Slinger's Dwayne Corbitt however, as he went for a Week 4 state-best 367 yards and 4 touchdowns in a 34-13 win over Watertown on Friday. After Watertown jumped out to a 7-0 lead, Corbitt scored a pair of first quarter touchdowns to put the Owls up for good, then iced it with a pair of second half scores as they moved to 2-0 in the Little Ten and 3-1 overall.

Bryce Herlache, Wrightstown - Playing on the road in adverse field conditions against an unbeaten opponent, Wrightstown knew they'd have to be close to perfect to come away with a victory against Kewaunee. With the help of Herlache, they were incredibly efficient, and came away with a 27-20 victory as a result. The sophomore fullback carried the ball 39 times for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns, and added a key interception in the second half. He also converted a 4th and 1 with just over 5 minutes to play to help set up the winning score, as the Tigers were 7 for 7 on fourth down conversions in the game.

Alec Ingold, Bay Port - Both the host Pirates and visiting Notre Dame were undefeated heading into Monday's FRCC showdown, but Ingold made sure his Bay Port squad would be the one to remain unbeaten. He accounted for three first-quarter touchdowns (2 rushing, 1 passing), and finished the day with 337 rushing yards and 4 scores on 21 carries. He added 41 yards and a touchdown on 2 of 3 passing as well.

Thom Jefferson-Ang, Wonewoc-Center - The Timberwolves have seen several players make their marks in the state record books for passing or receiving in the past, but there have been many lean years in Wonewoc and Union Center. The team has never made the WIAA football playoffs, and entered Week 4 with the state's longest active losing streak at 24 games. That has come to an end however, thanks to a 38-12 win over rival Royall. Thom Jefferson-Ang, a sophomore running back, came up huge all day, carrying the ball 22 times for 226 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Alex Zacharias, Stoughton - The Vikings and their fans have been close in recent seasons to ending a playoff drought that extends back to 1998, and the team took a big step in the right direction with a 28-14 win over Fort Atkinson on Friday night. Stoughton was holding a slight 14-7 advantage heading into the fourth quarter when Zacharias broke off a 68-yard touchdown run on the first play of the period. He added a 3-yard scoring scamper minutes later to give the Vikings some breathing room. For the game, he finished with 197 yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries, as he teamed with Zach Kirby (17, 144, 1) for a potent ground game.
