FOOTBALL
Offense

Ryan Kusilek, Junior (River Falls, Wis.), Quarterback of UW-River Falls
Kusilek helped lead the Falcons to a 43-28 win at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology on Sept. 20.  He set two school records in the win, passing for 405 yards and accumulating 501 total offense yards in the victory.  The total offense mark is fourth best on the WIAC all-time chart.  He completed 32-of-45 passes and threw three touchdowns passes and no interceptions.  Kusilek had a long completion of 61 yards.  He also carried the ball 15 times and netted 96 yards, including a 12-yard touchdown run.  The win snapped a 14-game losing streak for the Falcons.

Defense
Zach Nellis, Senior (Waupaca, Wis.), Defensive Back of UW-Whitewater
Nellis totaled five tackles (three solo), two interceptions and a forced fumble in UW-Whitewater’s 48-0 triumph at The College of New Jersey on Sept 20.  On the Lions’ opening drive, Nellis forced a fumble at the Warhawks’ 1-yard line to end a 74-yard drive and give UW-Whitewater the momentum.  He ended a second TCNJ drive inside the Warhawks’ 5-yard line at the end of the first half with a pick, then intercepted another pass early in the fourth quarter.

Stan returned five kickoffs for 194 yards (38.8 average) against No. 2-ranked the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) on Sept. 20.  He had three returns over 40-yards, including a 66-yard return in the fourth quarter setting up a UW-La Crosse touchdown.  Stan also had returns of 52 and 40-yards.
