Stoughton football became playoff-eligible with their win over Oregon on Friday night. The Vikings are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week recipient.

Stoughton (3-4) defeated Oregon (5-2) 13-12 on Friday behind Alex Zacharias' 2 touchdown runs.

The victory moved the Vikings to 3-1 in the Badger-South to make the Vikings playoff-eligible, giving them a strong chance to reach the WIAA Playoffs for the first time since 1998, which was their only postseason appearance in school history.

Zacharias finished with 176 yards on 39 carries to go along with his 2 touchdowns.

Quarterback Jake Kissling went 4-for-11 for 43 yards, while Jacob Benson caught 3 passes for 22 yards to lead Stoughton in receiving.

Stoughton's remaining schedule includes Monona Grove (6-1, 4-0) and Madison Edgewood (2-5, 1-3).

A victory in one of those two games will guarantee the Vikings a playoff spot, but their win over Oregon makes the Vikings almost certain to reach the playoffs.

The Splash of the Week is sponsored by PlayInTheDells.com. It highlights the player, coach or team that has "made a splash" in the world of high school sports. This could mean coming out of nowhere to do something great, going above and beyond the call of duty, etc.  If you have a nominee for Splash of the Week please send it to Norbert Durst
