Jack Horter of Marquette has been selected as the Week 7 Air National Guard Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. Horter helped the Hilltoppers shutout Brookfield Central last week in a key Greater Metro Conference showdown. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 7. A total of 8457 votes were cast, as Horter's 3383 were enough to edge second place Mitch Pfeifer of Kettle Moraine, who tallied 3199.

Marquette took a significant step towards a second straight outright Greater Metro title on Friday, taking down Brookfield Central 23-0. The Hilltoppers defense was outstanding, led by senior linebacker Jack Horter. He recorded 21 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 4 passes defended, an interception, and a forced fumble. Oh yeah, he also returned a blocked field goal attempt 70 yards for a score.

Marquette can clinch at least a share of the GMC title with a win over West Allis Central this week.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Air National Guard Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Week 8 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
