Splash of the Week: Germantown girls volleyball

Germantown girls volleyball captured the North Shore conference tournament on Saturday. The Warhawks are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week. 

Germantown went 5-0 at the conference tournament without dropping a set. The Warhawks defeated Nicolet in the championship, 25-10, 25-11. 

They also earned wins over Cedarburg (25-19, 25-21), Port Washington (25-13, 25-14), and Whitefish Bay (25-17, 25-15). The Warhawks beat Nicolet earlier in the day as well, 25-22, 25-13. 

Carly Townsend led the Germantown with 56 kills, 64 assists, 27 digs, and 11.5 blocks on the day. She also posted a 68 percent hitting percentage. 

Chloe Bingenheimer compiled 43 digs and 20 digs, and Christina Nennig finished with a team-high 78 assists. 

The Warhawks finished a perfect 6-0 in matches last week, they also swept Port Washington on Tuesday. 

For the month, Germantown is 13-3 with their losses coming to WVCA No. 1 ranked DSHA (twice) and No. 2 Burlington. 

The Warhawks (32-13, 11-1) received a six seed for sectionals and will play 11-seed Waukesha South on Thursday.
