Tyler Johnson of Menasha has been selected as the Week 9 Air National Guard Player of the Week following a statewide vote on WisSports.net. He came up big as the Bluejays handled West De Pere for the Bay Conference crown. He was chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 6,446 votes were cast, as Johnson's 2820 were enough to edge second place Dylan Swerig of Milton, who tallied 2394.

Menasha and West De Pere appeared headed towards an unbeaten Week 9 matchup much of the year, with the Bay Conference title and possible #1 playoff seed on the line. The Bluejays blew open a tight game at halftime to pull away for a 45-21 victory, as Johnson accounted for four touchdowns and 299 yards. He finished 8 of 11 passing for 87 yards and a score, while carrying the ball 23 times for 212 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The win helped secure a #1 seed in the Division 3 playoffs for Menasha, as they'll open up against Menomonie.

Remember folks, the only way your favorite player can be named Air National Guard Player of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for the Level 1 nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
