Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees, October 20-26

Below are the Sport Ngin Athlete of the Week Nominees for the week of October 20 through 26. Voting is open until Thursday at 4pm, so be sure to vote for who you feel is most deserving and spread the word. Users may vote once per day.

Delaney Eigenberger, Madison Memorial girls cross country, finished first at the WIAA Division 1 Sectional Championship Meet held at Deforest on Saturday in a time of 18:35.8, twenty seconds better than the second place finisher. 

Ryan Hansen, Pulaski boys soccer, scored 2 goals to lead the Red Raiders past River Falls, 2-1, and advance to the state tournament for the first time in program history.

Tigrio Huerta, Delavan-Darien boys soccer, finished with 2 goals and 2 assists in a 6-2 win over Grafton to advance to the state tournament. On Thursday in a Sectional Semifinal, Huerta scored 2 goals and added an assist in their 4-3 win over Catholic Memorial. Grafton finished the regular season ranked No. 1 by the WSCA and Catholic Memorial was No. 2. 

Morgan Stecklein, Platteville girls volleyball, finished with 17 kills in their win against River Valley, 3-2, to advance to sectionals. She also tallied 12 kills their victory over Madison Edgewood, 3-1. 

Madi Walter, Hortonville girls volleyball, compiled 19 kills and 16 digs to help the Polar Bears defeat three-seeded Appleton North 3-2 in a Division 1 Regional Final. She also finished with 12 kills and 9 digs in their victory over Green Bay Southwest, 3-0.
