Air National Guard Level 1 Player of the Week Nominees:

Zack Baun, Brown Deer - What a weekend it was for Baun, who got it started by rushing 27 times for 402 yards and 6 touchdowns as the Falcons beat Pewaukee 49-40, their second victory over the Pirates in as many weeks. In those back-to-back victories, Baun posted a total of 600 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns, adding 214 yards passing and 3 scores. As if that wasn't enough, on Saturday he gave a verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin to play football.

Steven Buss, Waterloo - 6th-seeded Waterloo and 3rd-seeded Cedar Grove-Belgium were locked in a back and forth affair heading to the fourth quarter, but a trio of Pirates touchdowns led to a 42-29 upset, as Buss scored a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter and four in the game. His 30-yard scoring catch early in the 4th put Waterloo ahead for good, and his 75-yard run closed out the scoring and provided the final margin of victory. For the game he carried the ball 14 times for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns, catching 3 passes for 57 yards and 2 scores.

Seth Peters, Luxemburg-Casco - The Spartans went on the road in Level 1 to take on a strong Notre Dame team out of the FRCC, but pulled away in the second half for a 34-14 win. Peters got Luxemburg-Casco on the board first with a 9-yard scoring plunge, and coming out of halftime with a 14-7 lead, tacked on another score on a 64-yard gallop. He finished with 234 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 21 carries.

Tyler Westrick, Milton - Badger-South co-champ and 3rd-seeded Milton found itself down 12-0 in the 2nd quarter of Friday's Level 1 match-up against Watertown, but the Red Hawks stayed the course and came back for a 21-18 victory. Westrick threw a pair of third quarter touchdowns that put the team ahead. He completed 7 of 13 passes on the night for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns, adding 44 yards on the ground.

Jake Whalen, Wausau West - Whalen had a big week on and off the field last week. He was announced as the VFA-Defensive Player of the Year and the co-Offensive Player of the Year. After receiving a preferred walk-on offer from Wisconsin last week, he played like he had a chip on his shoulder and deserved a full scholarship, rushing for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns on 26 carries as the Warriors took down Neenah on the road, 30-26.
