Splash of the Week: Beloit Memorial boys soccer

Beloit Memorial boys soccer advanced to the state tournament for the first time in program history. The Purple Knights are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week

Beloit Memorial defeated Kettle Moraine 2-1 on a penalty kick shootout during their Division 1 Sectional Final. 

Jose Barron scored in the 59th minute to tie the game up at 1. The scored remained tied through regulation and two-minute overtime periods before the Purple Knights won the shootout 3-1. 

Goalkeeper Luis Pedroza finished with 9 saves and stopped three of four shootout attempts. 

On Tuesday, Beloit Memorial knocked off two-seed Madison Memorial 2-1. 

Jose Gutierrez and Ricardo Ramos each found the net with Alberto Martinez assisting on both goals. 

Pedroza compiled 8 saves in their win over Madison Memorial who finished the regular season ranked No. 3 in the Wisconsin Soccer Coaches Association State Rankings. 

Beloit Memorial (20-2-6) will face Menomonee Falls (17-3-4) in a Division 1 State Semifinal on Friday at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.
