Waterloo girls volleyball has reached the state tournament for the first time in program history. The Pirates are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week.
Waterloo swept Wisconsin Heights 25-21, 25-8, 25-9 to advance the Division 3 State Tournament for the first time in their program's history.
The Pirates were led by Madeline Mosher and Hailey Chittenden.
Mosher finished with 12 kills, 11 digs, 5 assists, and 5 aces, while Chittenden compiled with a team-high 10 assists. She also added 8 kills, 10 digs, and 10 aces.
Waterloo also got solid contributions from Jenny Kling; 5 kills, 3 blocks, and 4 digs to in the victory.
Waterloo beat Markesan in a Sectional Semi-Final, 3-0. The Pirates have not lost a set in the playoffs.
Waterloo (35-4) ended the regular season as the top-ranked team in the WVCA Coaches Poll and will face No. 3 Howards Grove (42-4) in a Division 3 State Semi-Final on Friday at 1 p.m.
