Splash of the Week: Waterloo girls volleyball

Waterloo girls volleyball has reached the state tournament for the first time in program history. The Pirates are this week's PlayintheDells.com Splash of the Week

Waterloo swept Wisconsin Heights 25-21, 25-8, 25-9 to advance the Division 3 State Tournament for the first time in their program's history. 

The Pirates were led by Madeline Mosher and Hailey Chittenden. 

Mosher finished with 12 kills, 11 digs, 5 assists, and 5 aces, while Chittenden compiled with a team-high 10 assists. She also added 8 kills, 10 digs, and 10 aces.

Waterloo also got solid contributions from Jenny Kling; 5 kills, 3 blocks, and 4 digs to in the victory. 

Waterloo beat Markesan in a Sectional Semi-Final, 3-0. The Pirates have not lost a set in the playoffs. 

Waterloo (35-4) ended the regular season as the top-ranked team in the WVCA Coaches Poll and will face No. 3 Howards Grove (42-4) in a Division 3 State Semi-Final on Friday at 1 p.m.
